Doesn't seem that far off for a dyno dynamics. They always been known for reading lower than a mustang.

the difference between 87 and 93 octane shouldnt be that large. there is little hp gain from switching from 87 to 93. just the knock resistance

pick a recall ..... any recall .... lets see as an owner of an 04 rx8 .... ball joints... 3 ecu flashes, a switch somewhere, the bracket for the clutch petal, etc...

If you bought it a few months ago it should be taken car of since the recall is 1+ year old. You can call your Mazda dealer and they can confirm.

Here is a link with all the TSBs and recalls on the car. Give it a read and see if your car has any of the symptoms listed. If you still have a Bumper to bumper warranty left you can bring it in and they will fix these things for free.

Yes. I understand. I've just usually heard that Mustang Dynos read lower than Dyno Dynamics. He was stating the reverse.

you are thinking Dyno Jet Shaun . The Dyno Dynamics refered to here as "the heartbreaker" does read very low . 165 is about normal for an 8 on a DD .
