Calling All Rotary Owners in Central PA !
 

First and foremost, I apologize for the TLDR



So I have been throwing this idea around with a few friends and I think that we have come up with something that could benefit the entire Central PA area. The particular target audience is in and around the Altoona, State College, Tyrone, Hollidaysburg, Huntington, Phillipsburg, Port Matilda, and nearby areas. Those at a greater distance may also be a part of this , though it may not be quite as efficient.

The idea here is a Central PA rotary club. This club would consist of rotary owners from the area, all of which would pay a monthly or annual due to the club. The purpose of the dues is to provide the monetary funding for equipment, such as tools for the garage/storage area, and to rent storage for those of us who wish to winterize our vehicles and store them for the winter, work on our vehicles at our own leisure, undergo our own projects, etc. With enough of a following , we could regularly have group wrenchings, BBQs, drinks, and for the colder winter months, be able to keep our vehicles safe from the salt, snow, and other drivers. This would assist the local rotary community by being able to offer things such as a Mazda OEM Compression tester for free to the members of the club, and for a discounted price for those outside of the club. Aside from having tools that nearly exclusive to dealerships due to price, we could quickly have the benefit of having all the tools you would need to undergo major projects with our vehicles such as engine swaps, transmission swaps, etc. We have the ability to start something great in our area that could greatly benefit us. This is strictly to gauge interest, and no prices are set for anything. I will be looking into pricing for storage ground, as well as tools and such, which could also be donated by other members if they feel inclined to do so. If this has enough following , I would hope to get this off the ground within the next few months. I know of at least 10 rx8 owners in the area, and have seen a few rx7s as well. I am sure that there is a wealth of knowledge and possibly an abundance of interest in this, so feel free to drop any suggestions or feelings on the matter.
