Any rotary repair shops in Central NJ?

My 2004 car which has never had a lick of trouble will not turn over after my brother-in-law moved it without warming her up. I am thinking it's flooded but after trying all the tricks to "deflood" it still will not start. I also replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils. I live in Matawan NJ 07747 - is there any rotary repair shops in my area anyone can recommend or do I have to get it towed to the a dealer? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you tried jump starting it with the gas pedal down? It can take up to an hour but it can be done. I've found that you need to experiment with the gas pedal while cranking it (sometimes depressed, sometimes not). I spent an hour last year deflooding my 8

Try IPR in Metuchen if you can't get it started. GL!

Yes! I've heard they're one of the best rotary shops in the northeast - not just in NJ:

IRP specializes in FD's.... theyre not really familiar with RX8's and they're over priced. for troubleshooting and diagnosing id recommend Speed1 aka KDR but they are in PA.....

i dont think its neccessary to take it to a shot since it sounds like your car is flooded to me. deflooding takes some skill/feel.... and patients

Can you push start the car? That is the easiest way to start a flooded engine. All you need is a few people to push, get on speed, put second gear, and on your way.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately due to time constraints I had to car towed to Schwartz Mazda in Shrewsbury. The car was indeed flooded they charged me $130 to deflood - $55 for a software update - and $65 to put some parts back that I had removed. They also suggested installing an improved starter but at $552 I told them no. I will install that myself. Now it's time to bitch slap my brother in law :)

Their client base indicates that's true - I saw cars with *way* out of state license plates. Many shipped in from over a thousand miles away.

I was happy with the pricing they gave me. I wasn't equipped to do the work I needed from them and they were a far better experience than the dealership.

LiL BenNy, just saw this thread... I probably do more rx-8s than anyone in the tristate area, along with the usual evos, subarus, corvettes, gtrs, etc. You've never spent a dollar with me so I don't think have any perspective on my pricing. I say to anyone that has a question about pricing: bring me a competitor's estimate. And by this I mean a legitimate brick and mortar business, not someone working out of their home garage who has little to no overheard or equipment, and I guarantee you are getting more for your money and a higher standard of work with me. The main problem is a lot of "shops" will take shortcuts or re-use parts. I won't. I have a higher standard and would rather have a potential customer walk away thinking my prices are too high than do a poor quality job and later have the car give that individual an issue again with the same thing.

Fixitall, glad the car is running well. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
