Any 8's in my area?

I am looking for people around me with 8's. I live in Orange County, around the Newburgh/New Windsor area. It seems like everyone has groups but I haven't heard of gatherings up this way. Let me know if you want to get together!

The only 8 I have seen is this really hot chic in a Titanium. Are you a member?

Hey, I'm not up there anymore (not since '95 anyway). But I grew up in Fishkill, right down the road from you.

Velocity Red, pretty much loaded (stock) in Poughquag, near Sylvan Lake. I actually drove to Middletwon to buy my 8. Got my tint from Newburgh at Valley Motorsport. I don't see any in my area, but I like that about the car. It's unique and always gets a double take from people.

Also while getting my tint in Newburgh I met a mechanic right next store (Xtreme Automotive). He has 2 or 3 RX7s (races one of them) and an RX2. Supposedly he knows his stuff about rotaries. Do you know anything about this guy?

I've bought a few things from Valley Motorsport for my old car, but don't know much about the mechanic next door. I went to Middletown first to get my car there, but they were jerks to me (19 year old girl by herself=a joke to car dealers). Elvis over there gave me a ridiculous price. I actually bought mine in New Jersey. How do you like Middletown, as I am thinking of getting my car serviced there since it is closer.

The only time I dealt with Middletwon was to buy the car. I was originally going to buy from Mt Kisco and worked out a deal on the phone with Middleown to go and check out their RX8. At the time (Oct 2004) they were the only one's who had the Red (loaded w/ everything I wanted). My other option was to order a 2005, but I was trying to squeeze out a year end deal. Middletown's had the NAV (the only option I could care less about), but the price was right. I work in Stamford , CT so I take my car to Stamford Mazda. Valley Motorsports did a good job on the tint and they were reasonably priced (I think it was $150-175). Like I said about the mechanic next door, I talked to him while at Valley Motorsports and the guy is a rotary junkie. He was in awe at the new 8. All his mechanics came out to gaulk at the car. He was impressed with how they shoveded the engine down under the dashbard. He has worked on them and vamped them up for many years. I may talk to him (since I don't know anyone else in the area) if and when the time comes to go FI.

Central Valley here, but I'm in Albany now for school. That finishes soon though, maybe a bunch of us could meet up somewhere? That would be sweet. PM me please if anything cool is going to happen, I don't check the regional forums enough, but I'l try to change that
Oh by the way, I'm a 2005 Titanium Gray

I haven't been on that much either. I'm staying at a house where there's only dial up But I get paid to stay there and watch their dog. We should definitely get a meet going soon. The guy that started this thread wrecked his, so there's one less. Let me know & I'll be there!!

I have friends in Middletown, I occasionally drive from NJ there... or just to the 7 Lakes Drive when weather is good
Most meetings are close to Philadelphia (with the rx8tristateclub.com, NY-PA-NJ), about 1.5 hours South from me, so not very practical for the people in upstate NY...

there is a extremely interesting reason behind why I, someone without an rx8 is writing in this forum and in this older thread. T

This is the reason. I own a 87 gxl n/a Rx7 that has been out of commission for 7 months. I FINALLY found a shop that works on rotarys right in orange county at an amazing good price too. "Xtreme Automotive". I wanted to find out about the place and it's reputation before I take my car there and leave it to get worked on. Other than the person that recomended the place, I personally know of nobody with RX's that been to this place.

Honestly I need to know what any one knows about this place.

As a side note. If anyone wants to know of my situation go on Nopistons.com log on as a guest and view my threads listed under the user name : Brett Vance. It will make for some good reading. and maybe some education.

Question Extremely interesting?

Wow...I wasted a long time at NoPistons, looking for your "Extremely interesting" posts.....

All I could find is a similar post by Mr. Vance asking about some shop in your town, and you wondering why your Grand Am "won't-go-no-mo".

WTF....?....

No input here , but I did stop in and talk to him. The tint shop next store says that's his speciaility, and he does own several.

How much time did you waste? "ok reading" maybe but not extremely interesting post. I didn't say that. After posting here I posted in no pistons too. And My Grand Am is a lemon along with a big, big, number nation wide of that same gen. model . having a hole crap load of stuff go wrong at as little as 50k on the engines.

I took a ride out to the place Thursday morning. Liked what I saw and talked with the guy. SO friday morning I took the car there, he sayed he'd start on it that day as soon as the car currently in the bay was out. I was told that on monday I'd receive an update call and stuff. to say the least Im anxious.
