I just don't see what he could be trying to get? He's not asking for any money, so I'll be damned if I'd bring any... Unless the want my 94 honda wagon, cause I'll be damned if 4 bumpers would fit in the 8. Let alone one. I'm just confused on this one..

Nathan Atkins 09-05-2013 06:03 PM

I'd throw them in my trailer and roll! But I doubt it's legit, do you know anyone in the area, I have done friends on Long Island but I doubt any would drive down to check for you only one of them even has a car :P

Nathan Atkins 09-05-2013 06:04 PM

Done was supposed to be some haha

wish I did. I just jb kwikwelded everything together on mine. Atleast for now. Gonna add some zipties tomorrow just for added security. The bumpers trash anyway, might as well make it work.

bladeiai 09-05-2013 09:39 PM

Well my power steering started acting up again and shut off today...

Nathan Atkins 09-06-2013 07:15 AM

Jeez, I'm starting to think our cars are getting to be old enough to sort of always have a problem or two. I guess it's no different than my 240SX buddies were in the mid 2000s when their cars were getting to be about 10 years old too.

Like I said though John, if you can limp there, you can codrive my car if you like.

Attention folks who haven't signed up yet, if any:

Registration for the autox is now open to all drivers, including nonmembers, there doesn't appear to be a mad rush to get in there though, there are still only about 10 signed up altogether.

I'm not throwing in the towel on it yet, it seems to be a different issue than last time (not sure if that is good or bad...) and works most of the time. I'm trying to get it together for race day...

As for getting old, that they are, and it only gets worse. My Dad is an avid classic car collector and he has around 9 (last I counted) that have been restored. Usually 2 or 3 of them are working at any given time...

I love my car but I'm not sure how much longer I can justify it as a DD...

Sadly, I cannot swing the new tires in time for the CDCAXWTFBBQ. So slip and sliding it is, going to try to get the Spec-D's on though if I can squeeze it in.

bladeiai 09-06-2013 04:51 PM

Updated the list with another forum member and a couple local non-forum RX-8 owners that will be coming up. I think it's 12 RSVPS and 2 maybes at this point.

You managed to get a hold of not one, but two non-forum RX-8 owners?!?!? They exist?!?!? This is a miracle!!!

On a more serious note, I am about as excited about this get-together as a small child is on Christmas Eve. Bring on the hang-out time! :grouphug:

Yeah they are both from around town. One is the WWP with aftermarket wheels I was trying to track down to ask about his splitters for the longest time.

I just realized looking at the roster that Johnathan, one of the regular rx8 drivers at cdc has registered with a newer porche cayman, I guess he traded up O_O

Oh the guy with the black one?

Ok... so a slight hiccup has come up...

The area behind my apartment where everyone parks and where I was planning to have everyone park may be an issue. I found a note on my car saying the are going to start construction on the townhouses again and that they will tow anyone parked there on the 10th...

It might not be an issue as I doubt they will be working or paying attention on Sunday, and we will all be within view of the cars so I don't think it would be a problem but wanted everyone to be aware. Alternatively there will be free street parking Sunday, but with 15+ cars some people won't be able to park directly infront and we may have to spread out over a few blocks.

What do you guys think?

Gotta do what we gotta do. As you said though, they probably won't bother on a Sunday,

Could we potentially grill and everything in Baker Park? I know those diagonal spaces off of 2nd street are usually freed up.

Also, add another Ti Gray to the list, one of my buddies, who is on the forum but not active, said that he is coming for the BBQ.

I really think it should be fine, but I will have a better idea this coming week after the deadline passes and I can see how anal they people are going to be. I have a phone number for the company, I guess I could call and ask if it's ok...

bladeiai 09-07-2013 07:05 PM

Added your friend and also realized we can just park here if the back area doesn't work out:

Hey guys I just thought I'd post this for any of you sitting on the fence about autocrossing or not, this is a sample of what you'll be doing, this is at Harry Grove, so the same venue and everything:

DWilson 09-08-2013 11:39 PM

2005 RX-8 Grand Touring Shinka 6-Speed, Titanium Grey.
I may come to spectate the Autox, but I'll definitely be there for the BBQ
