It is with much regret that I am listing this car for sale. I am anticipating moving back to Buffalo sooner than later and due to space restraints I have to try selling this car. This car, to me, is the most fun I have had on 4-wheels. It's handling and high-revving rotary make even the commute to work a fun drive.
So anyways, what I have is a 2004 Mazda RX8 6-speed manual in Sunlight Silver with ~89k miles and counting. It has PW, PL, Moonroof, cruise, a/c, BOSE sounds system, foglamps, and cloth seats. I bought the car back in Sept. of 2011 with 76k miles. I posted most of my progress in this BUILD THREAD If you take the time to read through it, you can see many of the things I have done and addressed over time. This current year, I have not really done anything to the car this year besides driving it and some oil changes. It has been rock-solid with no issues at all. Mods (All mods have less than 13k miles on them): Engine: -COBB Accessport with a custom-tune -K&N Panel filter with modded airbox -BHR Ignition System -Corksport Resonated and catless midpipe -SOHN Oil metering pump adapter -Clutch was replaced around 55k miles (stock unit) Suspension: -H&R sport springs -Bilstein HD Shocks Brake/Wheel: -Enkei RPF1 Wheels in 17x9 -Continental Extremecontact DW in 245/45/17 -EBC USR front rotors -Centric Cryo-stop rear rotors -Porterfield R4-S pads all around -ATE Blue fluid Misc: -Corksport LED lighting kit -Lamin-X covered headlamps (blue) and foglamps (yellow) -Plasti-dipped emblems -Yellow foglamp bulbs -Front and rear polished lower-bumper rotary accents -Transmission and Rear end fluid replaced with Red-Line products -Engine runs Royal Purple Synthetic Oil -Die-hard Platinum battery -New power steering harness -Brake calipers painted blue PROS: -I consider myself a rotary enthusiast and I have taken very good care of this car. I have invested a lot of time and money into ensuring that this car would not have the issues that have plagued many other RX8's. I add 6oz of premix to every tank of gas, and I make sure that I red-line the car regularly to ensure no carbon buildup. I have also taken care of other common issues like shoring up battery connections, and adding a new power steering harness (It also has a new power steering rack). -Although I don't have a compression-test, I can be confident that the engine is in good shape. I have trapped over 95mph in the quarter-mile and I average 20mpg (Fuelly). Both of those numbers are well above average. The car also starts near-instantly in any situation. Due to the BHR ignition, flooding is pretty much non-existent. Also, the engine only has ~15k miles on it. -I have receipts for most of the work and parts from me and the previous owner. CONS: -The body is the worst part of the car. Scratches and small dents a located around the car. The Driver's side front fender is the worst as I think the previous owner ran over something like a piece of truck-tire. -The nature of the rotary engine makes results in plenty of gas being used. My best tank was just over 21mpg. The tune on the car needs a minimum of 91 octane. All being said, if you are looking for a reliable and well-maintained RX8, I feel that this would fill your needs. This car can go from Daily-Driver to the track or autocross with virtually no changes. I'm asking $9800. If you have any questions, please ask. I am located in Royal Oak, MI.
