Yea, e-mail him the rating of your helmet, and he'll let you know if it's OK.

Here is his e-mail.

2004 Brilliant Black GT - bone stock, unfortunately
Franklin, WI (south suburb of Milwaukee)

:wavey:

I work down in Franklin, if you see a Copper Red around lunch time, that would be me.

Anyone else planning on heading down on the 23rd? Can we just pay the $10 at the door to get in if we aren't running on the track?

From what I can tell we have at least 4 8's going. Yes, you can pay and just watch or go for ride alongs.

Cool, I'll have to keep my eyes open...although I'm not normally around Franklin during lunch, as I work down in Burlington.

Hey guys and gals,

I just moved into the Appleton area a couple of weeks ago and my wife and I own a 2004 Titanium Gray GT RX-8. We've got the appearance package and haven't had it out for a lot this summer yet. But I think I've seen the black one out and about on College Ave. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance!

Welcome, Check out the Chicago meets thread for more info on meets and track days.

Mathoepner, welcome to Appleton. There're a few in the area. I've seen 2 reds, 2 blacks, couple greys and couple silvers. There'll be an autox on July 1st at the baseball stadium north of the mall. Feel free to come by and check it out. I'll be there bright and early :)

Madison, WI

Lurked here for about 2 years & I'm giving in to the urge soon - even got a better job so I can pay off the car loan sometime this century.

I've seen a nice TiGrey at the Best Buy behind the east side mall, and a younger woman driving a (very very dirty) Winning Blue on the beltline near Stoughton Rd.

I've seen the TI grey one too. The winning blue I belive lives by me since I always see it. So you got one yet or you looking into getting one?

Nick R 06-18-2007 11:29 PM

Speaking of winning blue I pulled onto the freeway (94 East) right in front of one today but was driving my black 3G eclipse Anyone on here?

Still looking - I'd prefer a 05 Ti-Grey. I'm stopping by Don Miller for a test drive and only a test drive - their single used 8 is a 05 Brilliant Black MT GT w/14k miles with a window price of $27k. Not a fan of that price or the GT trim (specifically leather & moon-roof). A prefunctory search of ebay, autotrader, etc., has shown me that there are private party 05's out there under 20k, so that's the direction I'm headed.

Yea, 27K for a used 05 is crazy. For that price you can get a brandnew base model.

More_Revs 06-19-2007 02:08 PM

27k for used is way too much. You should be able to get around 20k.

Base model is hard to find used. I looked left and right and couldn't find one.

Depends on when and where you were at on 94.

I said hi to a Silver one with licence plate "BALANA" when heading to Milwaukee in my blue Mustang. Anyone here or knows who it was?

Yeah depends on where on 94. I take 94 between Oconomowoc and Johnson Creek everyday for work.

pbuck1 06-22-2007 09:20 AM

Just to let everyone now that car started at $26995.00 and a sale price of 21900.00 and at that price there was also a new set of 18" snow tires as well . By the way I'm one of the sales mgr's at Don Miller .
Pat

And I own a 2004 Grand Touring in Yellow !

It was in Waukesha near 164 heading east.

_Sin_ 07-03-2007 10:28 PM

Red one on I-94 at 8:30am weekday heading North in South Milwaukee area with a guy in his 40s to 50s.

RWagz 07-03-2007 10:40 PM

There was a Red with rotary accents and sunroof at Madison-West American TV/Appliance today (I work there).

Damn you for parking right in front of the parking lot when I was trapped at the front door greeting! :)

In other news the only RX-8 in the Madison area car lots is a 07 GT auto at Don Miller- I tried to find one to test drive today. No thanks Don Miller.

You know what! The car (6-speed winning blue) I just bought from a private owner named Frank in Stougton with the snow tires also came from that dealership. I originally did not want the snow tires and it turned out that the extended warranty that he had advertised was not transferrable so he gave me the tires with the sale. Poor guy paid for that warranty and got nothing out of it. Wonder if the dealership had mentioned the restriction to him. You guys get RX8s in quite a bit?

Wassup guys. UW Madison student here. Just saved up enough to finally afford an '8. bought an 04 GT 6 spd, winning blue, stock daily driver at least for now. Planning to upgrade the CAI in the near future, but not sure if there is really anything else needed. Used to drive a 92 MR2 turbo and a 93 3000GT VR4, and the stock rx 8 kicks their asses anytime. props to devildog1679 for lettin me know about the forum. The younger woman driving the very very dirty winning blue 8 near stoughton lives somewhere near Zimbrick Honda.

That makes sense, I live just down the road from there.

Next week after I drive back from Richmond, VA with my '8 I'll probably take it thru the Octopus on Park. Then maybe I can cruise around and try to find her car & put the coupon for money off your next car wash under her wiper!

kefz 07-05-2007 11:21 AM

haha, i am sure she would thank you! then again, I don't think she'd intentionally leave her car dirty. u shld be able to see me. i drive from fish hatchery down park to grainger hall and back everyday. u got your 05 rx8 yet?

No, on the 11th I'm flying to Richmond and driving back with my new titanium gray girlfriend. She's curvy in all the right places, if you know what i mean.

kefz 07-05-2007 11:58 AM

good for you! treat her well. lol.

devildog1679 07-05-2007 01:02 PM

Hey Guys,

Check out the upcoming track day thread. There are a few of us heading to Autobahn on the 21st and 22nd. It's a sweet track, if you don't want to drive you can always spectate. There is also a BBQ on Saturday in IL, not sure if I can make it because the pregnant wife has been sick lately. Don't feel like taking the long drive alone.

BlueRenesis82 07-05-2007 08:49 PM

you'll get to meet the famous devildog!

RWagz 07-05-2007 09:03 PM

Heh, as fun as that sounds, I'm not so sure that I want to be taking my car to the track barely a week after I get it.

So anyone other than myself and Blue going to AutoBahn next weekend?

RWagz 07-15-2007 11:13 PM

No guarantees, but I'm thinking of heading down to meet some people on Sunday, if any of you are going to still be there.

BlueRenesis82 07-16-2007 07:40 AM

Well, we are going to be at the track until they close down the event on Sunday

RWagz 07-16-2007 08:54 AM

Sounds good. If I don't party too hard at my cousin's wedding I'll try to make it down.

devildog1679 07-16-2007 11:07 AM

Hope to see you then.

Looks like I'm going to be home Zaino'ing on Sunday - I was rained out this morning & threw in the towel because I have to work this evening, which didn't give me enough time to clay + 2 coats + showroom finish.

Maybe next time...

That's to bad, but I do want to check it out when your done. I used Meguiries three step (clean, polish, wax) after I clayed it. man the paint was smooth after that. The only reason I didn't go with Zaino is the time it takes:Eyecrazy:

RWagz 07-17-2007 12:33 PM

Yeah, I got the ZFX accelerator, the cure time is ridiculous otherwise. Now I just have to ignore the orange peel in the clear coat.

Oh, and wish me luck tonight - friggin' weather.com is saying that my area has a chance of "large hail." Hail damage the first week that I've owned my car will not please me.

Edit: Woot! weather.com has removed the hail warning!

BlueRenesis82 07-17-2007 06:51 PM

no hail for the win!

OH, I'm in Madison to, well actually on the border of Madison and Fitchburg. Hope I don't wake up to a dimpled car
