Also, I think banks are not willing to give out loans above 100% of KBB or even 90% KBB. Probably in the area of 75%. I had this issue when I refinanced to a 3.9% loan last year. I had to put some money down to make up for the difference. This is a common issue as you guys already know with sports cars with high depreciation. Oh well...that's why I gave up on the resale idea.
I might take a lost and lose something. If I can't sell my car I might go with FI.

What's with everyone in the milwaukee area being so cocky when they encounter another 8.
Seen a black one on hwy 164 in waukesha, didn't even bother to wave back or give a thumbs up, just kept driving like his car was so much better, dipping through traffic.
Then last night on hwy 100, a VR turbo'd one that was running like ****! It was running so rich and backfiring/shooting flames when he was cruising/ between shifts. I could understand a little, but this guy probably floods everywhere he goes. Roll down the window to talk to them at the lights, they just kept they're windows up like they were rolling in a domestic and were high class ballers. I think they were just embarassed that they had a shitty tuned 8 that has it's days numbered before it blows up.
Meh, whatever.

I have the "Drive The Mile" on my calendar as well as the track days at Road America 4/18 and 4/19 sponsored by the Midwest F-Body Association.
Wish there were more 8's up here by me. There is only one other one thats actually in town, and its a silver AT that some 60 yr old lady drives.
I have some family that lives down by milwaukee, next time I go thru I will try to get a hold of anyone from that area for a drive. So if you are from that area, pm me with the best way to get a hold of you.
Maybe we can make our own drive around milwaukee before/after the Drive The Mile event. That would be nice to get enough together, everyone brings their cameras and we get some nice photos and a cruise.

Welcome aboard rx8milwaukee! Come out and join us in the RX Club of Wi at the Drive the Mile event at State Fair Park on May 3rd. There were 9 of us with cars there last year and all had a good time. You can see more info about last year's turnout here. Also, here's one of the pics I took last year. PM me if you want more info.

That looks like a lot of fun, I tried to join the club last year and sent out the form online but I never heard anything back. What would I need to do to join you guys and hopefully make it out to the event?

Hey ZoomZoom,
Sorry you you had trouble getting in touch last year. I know we have had some problems with the web site over the last few months. Anyway, come on out to Drive the Mile. You're certainly welcome whether you are a club member or not. I'm pretty sure the club president and secretary will both be there, so you can talk to them then if you want. We just want to get as many RX's out as possible for a strong showing.
Hope to see you there.

For those of you interested in the Drive the Mile event this weekend, below is a copy of the RX Club of WI email that went out to our members. Come join us!
Hello Everyone!
This is just a reminder that the Drive the Mile event is this Sunday (May 3rd)!
Those of you that have not pre-registered:
It is NOT too late to decide to join us (you will just have to pay at the gate). You will need to gain entrance through gate 1 (on Greenfield Avenue at 78th street) or you can meet us at the offsite meeting location by 8am Sunday morning (see details below).
All of you that have pre-registered:
You should have received your confirmation with a small orange colored paper in the mail from the Milwaukee Mile last week. The color of this paper indicates the parking section you have been assigned for the event. If you received a different color, please let me know before Friday.
REMEMBER TO BRING:
Your orange colored pass (if you are pre-registered) or $15 (if you are not pre-registered)
Two non-perishable food items for donation, they prefer peanut butter and canned fruit. If you forget, you may donate an equivalent cash donation.
Proof of current insurance
Valid driver's license
YOUR CAR!
ARRIVAL TIMES & INFO:
To assure that we will all be able to park as a club and drive the mile as a club, we need to enter the event as a group. Therefore, we are going to meet at an offsite location (at the Pettit National Ice Center parking lot because it is highly visible and easy to get to from I-94).
NOTE: If you do not meet us at the offsite location by the specified time, you are not guaranteed a parking spot or the laps around the track with the RX club of WI.
WHEN:Sunday, May 4th at 8 AM (plan to be 10-15 minutes early because we will be departing promptly at 8am)
WHERE: Pettit National Ice Center parking lot
500 South 84th Street (Northwest corner of the State Fair Grounds/Milwaukee Mile)
DIRECTIONS:
From the west:
Heading east on I-94, take the 84th Street exit. Turn right (south) onto 84th Street. The entrance will be on your left.
From the east:
Heading west on I-94, take the 84th Street exit. Turn left (south) onto 84th Street. The entrance will be on your left.
From the north:
Heading south on Highway 45, take the Greenfield exit. Go left (east) on Greenfield Avenue. Turn left (north) onto 84th Street. The entrance will be on your right.

From the southwest:
Take the I-894 bypass to the Greenfield exit. Go right (east) on Greenfield Avenue. Turn left (north) onto 84th Street. The entrance will be on your right.
So far, it looks like the weather is supposed to be around 60 degrees and sunny!
Please feel free to contact Tim or Kristine with any questions.
Hope to see you there!

I am planning on being there but I'm coming down from central wisconsin. I have nearly 4 hour drive down. I am a little confused by the Drive the Mile website. It says carshow cars have to take their laps before 10 am but yet shows that the scheduled laps won't start til 11 am. Also I won't be staying til the end of the event so if I parked with the Rx club at the car show, can I leave early?

I may bring in someone who does not have an Rx8 (but I will mine). Can he drive the mile at the event? I will show either way at meet you before 8am. Not registered yet may do it in the next day.

I am planning to be there. So let me ask a dumb question. The laps are 3 laps ...correct? and you do it in a group following each other...correct? and it's not a fast/racing 3 laps..correct? just wanna be sure, if its something else, i need to change certain things in my car...

That about sums it up. You follow a pace car at about 55 to 65mph in a group of around 7 or 8 cars. Not exactly the thrill of a lifetime, but fun to say you did it.
