greg985 11-20-2008 05:34 PM

shit did you call the police, or do yu have a wife/girlfrind/family member that may have moved it?

CyberPitz 11-20-2008 05:42 PM

I called the cops, and the neighbors saw who did it. I think I know who it was, so I'm tempted to find a picture of him and show the neighbor to see.

Jedi54 11-20-2008 05:47 PM

do it~!

CyberPitz 11-20-2008 05:53 PM

I always found it odd that he would tell me to not let people know that the car was his when explaining about it...Hmmm.

Altair 8 11-24-2008 03:15 PM

I would say, when you do find who did it, kill him.

CyberPitz 11-27-2008 02:54 PM

UPDATE - Found the car, but by the time the cops arrived, the guy jetted....

So now he knows I'm getting closer, and better watch his ass.

CyberPitz 11-28-2008 07:19 PM

The car is so close to my grasp....I can feel it....

kainis2k 11-29-2008 05:46 AM

Dude, I'm sorry to hear that... I'd shoot someone if they stole/tried to steal my car. The beauty of living in Kentucky...

CyberPitz 12-01-2008 11:28 AM

Yeah, I'd shoot if that wouldn't put me into a bunch of shit. Oh well, I feel happier now that I'm so close to the ending. I just hope the cops hold up their end with the info.

perks11 12-03-2008 02:08 PM

man that would suck, i hope you find the car, and then take the guy into a back alley and beat his ass, he deserves it!

CyberPitz 12-05-2008 01:21 PM

Yeah, still not a single word. Stupid Joplin cops.

CyberPitz 01-05-2009 07:25 PM

*UPDATE*

Well, I guess it's about time for me to give up this thought of getting my car back.

The one guy who can help me get it back is slagging his feet and or doesn't care. With his story in court, I'd get the car back....this makes me a sad panda. The guy who stole my car KNOWS who I am, too. I went to his work for some food, finding out after I get there that he is working today. He walks by, does a double take. The kid looks scared shitless to see me. You don't just steal someones car and drive it around as if it's yours.....anger rises.

Jedi54 01-05-2009 09:44 PM

your neighbor is dragging his feet? wasn't he the one who saw the suspect?
you've seen your car driving around?

9krpmrx8 01-05-2009 10:34 PM

I would BTF out of that dude on site. It would be worth a night in jail. Just get someone to follow the dude, eventually he will go to the car.

alphapenguin 01-05-2009 11:07 PM

i dont get it if you found the car, why couldnt you have taken it back? and if you know who has it... i think I am missing a part of the story.

tubingchamp 01-05-2009 11:20 PM

Get a baseball bat and hit him in the head, take your keys back and drive it home.

MazdaManiac 01-05-2009 11:36 PM

OK. Something is fishy with this story.
Well, everything is fishy with this story.

You know who stole your car, you know where he is and you know where it is.

How is that any different than it just being parked outside your house? Go get it.

Jedi54 01-05-2009 11:54 PM

yup, much more to this story there is.

alphapenguin 01-06-2009 10:35 AM

is the car not under your name? did the guy lose it to you in a "race for pink slips?" Did he buy the car from you when you were drunk and now you want it back?

Bumble_Bee 01-06-2009 12:18 PM

If I knew all that info about my thief...after 2 months...you better beelieve I'm getting my car back....!!

robel82 01-06-2009 01:36 PM

If your neighbor is draggin his feet just tell him/her that they are witness to the crime and failure to report would result in being arrested for aiding and abetting.

CyberPitz 01-07-2009 12:58 PM

OK, let me start over...from the beginning.

Guy who had car originally Owner 1. He gave the car to the next guy, Owner 2.

-----This part is from the mouth of Owner 2...don't know how credible it is, considering his reluctance in helping me...------

Owner 1 lost his title, so filed for a Lost Title while trading the car to Owner 2. Owner 1 had the title mailed directly to Owner 2's house. Title reads the Owner of the car being Owner 1, but the Mail To: address was Owner 2. Well, Owner 2 never had the title transferred to his name, so it's still in Owner 1's name. Owner 2 then comes to me and trades the car straight up for another RX-7. Owner 1 apparently finds his title, and comes and takes the car back with his keys. NOTE: I never got the title signed over to my name, as I could never get a hold of Owner 1 to get him to sign the title over *go figure...*. Cops are not exactly being too busy on this due to that fact. I was told this will be a small claims court matter, and the only way I believe I'll be able to get this car back is if Owner 2 confesses the story to the judge.

CLIFF NOTES
Owner 1 gives car to Owner 2
Owner 2 gives car to me
Owner 1 never signs title over to me by laying low and not contacting me, comes and takes the car back. Original car I traded FOR the stolen car is long gone now. My mistake for signing the title over prior.

*EDIT*

I've been told by some people that since the title was "Mailed To" Owner 2, then he can sign off on the title and I can get it put in my name. I don't see how that is legal, but does anybody else have any insight on that?

Silver06 01-07-2009 01:04 PM

^ Go to a lawyer in your area who has some experience with this.

Most lawyers will give you a free first consultation.

Get the correct answer for your State - anything else is just conjecture.

Good luck! :)

MazdaManiac 01-07-2009 01:08 PM

So, you don't actually own the car legally.

Wow, that's a stupid story.

Jedi54 01-07-2009 01:16 PM

the car is not yours.
Not smart trading one of YOUR cars for a car that wasn't even Owner #2's

tubingchamp 01-07-2009 01:24 PM

Yeah, sounds like a Taj kind of story, that's how fail it is.

GTConversion 01-07-2009 01:26 PM

It's generally a bad idea to leave out details like "I didn't get the title to the car when I purchased it" when you're claiming someone 'stole' something from you. If you don't possess a title with your name on it, it is not owned by you. No matter how much money exchanged hands, you do not own the car. If you really want to get down to it, you could've been arrested and charged with posession/transfer of stolen goods/grand theft for having his car when he possesses the title.

ok so that's the story. Well since you dont legally own the car, why dont you get your old car back from that straight up trade. Owner two did a straight up trade cause he probably knew he wasnt the legal owner of the car he was getting rid of.

Redundant Department of Redundancy?

Taj = Epic Failure

;)

PS. Don't acquire cars without titles.

CyberPitz 01-07-2009 04:08 PM

Damn, tough crowd. Shit happens, people make mistakes by trusting other people, it happens. I'm sure none of you have done that yet.

@RK - I have the title. It's in my safe box. I was told Owner 1 was on vacation, call him when he gets back next *at the time* week and get it signed over. Apparently they were good buddies and everything. Hell, I've seen them hanging out, so I didn't think this was some bullshit going down. Next thing I know, car is out of the carport, and Owner 2 talked about already sending the original car I owned on it's way.

@Alphapenguin - Yes, the way this is panning out is making me thing this was just a way to get another car to sell off and use it for some extra money.

Also, where in the world do I say I don't have the title...? I may not have said I had it in my possession, but I thought me talking about it directly passing between hands of Owner 1 and Owner 2 then me getting the car was enough. I'm sorry I wasn't crystal clear on that.

Now, let's please stop with the 'retarded story' etc....as I already kick myself enough for blowing this shit out, I don't need any E-help...

No. NEVER.
People are scum - especially where things of value are concerned.
I am constantly amazed at how even the seemingly most trustworthy people will try to scam a dollar here and a dollar there without regard to how it will affect the scammed.

Yeah, I am figuring this out...I guess if I get burned enough, I'll learn...hopefully this is the last time, lol.

I also plan to buy the next RX-7 from someone OUT of state....don't want this happening again :lol2:

TheBurkeMan 01-07-2009 08:19 PM

trading cars is never really a good idea anyways... i mean they're not baseball cards.

but since the title was never signed over it's not technically your car, it's still owner one's car.

sounds like you might have got scammed???

Yeah, I'm about to scratch this one up to the whole "Live and Learn" category. Good thing it's just a shitty car and nothing decent!
