Things to do in Minneapolis

So me and 3 of my friends are driving down to Minneapolis in August to watch UFC. I was just wondering if you guys who know the are can suggest things for us to do (we're all in our mid 20s). Also, is there a part of town we should avoid? Good hotels to stay in?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)

If you stay downtown Minneapolis the hotel will be very $$$$$$ but everything will be walking distance for you. Minneapolis have very good places to eat. There are night clubs, bar etc.. About 20 mins drive to Saint Paul and visit the capital.
There is a nice museum in Saint Paul. Tons of parks (if you like girl watching).
Fishing,biking etc..

Downtown Minneapolis in general is alot of traffic during weekday but weekends are ok. Like I said, if you stay in downtown then you can walk.

Well we'd like to stay close to the Target Center (which I'm assuming is what you consider downtown). We'd prefer not to drive when we go out at night since we're probably gonna be drinking. And hotel costs split 4 ways makes it reasonable. Might try the fishing during the day...thanks!

There's a place called Brit's Pub located downtown at 1110 Nicollet Ave. Great place to down some brew and some English pub food. I don't have a basis to judge how authentic the food is, but it was recommended to me by a native Brit and I had a great time.
