STL 8 owners want something to do tomorrow (Dec 11)

We'll be installing a radiator, flywheel, and pullies on Jeff's car (Relentless) at Lightspeed Performance. We'll also do before and after dyno's for a magazine story. More details later today, but just wanted to post to give a heads up. If you want to come by to watch, keep an eye on this thread. I'll post the time and directions later.

HUGE thanks to Unorthodox Racing for donating the parts for this install - http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/

Sounds like fun. I'll drop by if you don't decide to do it absurdly early. Definitely curious to see how the changes go, and how well they perform.

John said 2 o'clock at Lightspeed is good, but I think going to have to be just the pulleys and radiator tomorrow, as apparently tomorrow is going to be a busy day for them.

As an aside, Lightspeed needs help with their website, and I know you guys are computer guys...

Hey Jeff, I can't find my Lightspeed biz card with their address on it ... could you post directions? Until he chimes it, I can say it's about 1-2 miles East of 170 on Olive.

I'll be there at 2 with the pullies.

Ok. Directions:

Coming from the east, take 40 West to 170 North.
Coming from the west, take 40 East to 170 North, or I-70 East to 170 South.
Or just wherever you're coming from, get to 170, north of 40 and south of I-70.

Take the Olive exit east.

It's a couple of blocks down on the right, across the street from the gas station (I think it's a Phillips). The shop is kind of hidden behind shops along the road, but there are two entrances, the last just before the car wash. If you see the McDonald's, you've gone too far.

The address is:

8314 Olive Blvd
St. Louis, MO 63132
Phone: 314-432-5221

Sounds like a good time. Unfortunately, I have to attend a funeral tomorrow and probably won't get a chance to stop by. Just in case the family stuff doesn't last too long, how long do you think they'll be working on it? If they won't be doing the flywheel, I can't imagine that it will be any longer than 1 1/2 hrs or so?

I would guess about 2 hours if we just run through it.

Another aside: I've got new 19" rims coming early next week, and my stock rims (~21,000 miles) and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s 245/40/18 (~3,700 miles) are for sale. The rims have a buyer, but the buyer would prefer to fit a set of all season tires on them.

So if anybody is interested in upgrading to the best available tire, or your stock tires are due for replacement (probably around 15,000 - 20,000 miles), I am looking to sell them for about $600. They run $936 shipped brand new at Tire Rack.

Also, once the new Unorthodox Racing flywheel is installed (probably sometime early next week), that will probably mean that I won't need my Mazdaspeed flywheel (~14,000 miles). I'd let it go for $200 (I think it's $522 new shipped at Rosenthal), and I think Lightspeed could hook you up with a deal on the install.

I'll take that Flywheel off your hands, Jeff - provided that it's not hanging on by its last tooth. Not sure about the tires, but probably not. Until I get my head around exactly what my modification plans are regarding wheels/tires, I don't want to go throwing money at things.

See you at two. I've got a bit of stuff to do at the office, but it'll be clear by 1:30 and I can run over. Might even be time to give my car a bath first... need to, but damn, I just need time. -_-;;

Katie, I just read you post and then looked at your profile to see if the other car is listed...I am droooooooling right now! I have long been a Toyota fanatic and I am feeling pretty jealous about right now. Lucky woman.

Well its been one bad trip with the car. To tell you a few of the details (believe me there is a lot more to it) I did have the 1jz in it because the 2zj and six speed were stuck in customs and sent back to japan. So in order to get the car running I put a 1zj in it. Then mysteriously the 2jz shows up. In the middle of that happening someone breaks into the sc300 damaging some of the interior, trunk, taillights, and window and tried to steal the 18s off it-causing about 4,000 in damage. Luckly me I only had liability on the car because it didnt have a motor in it for months and there was nothing to steal in the car anyway..blah. So when I get the motor and tranny in and the damage fixed the car will probably be up for sale and Ill start yet another one or call it quits. Havent quite decided yet.

Here is a pic of the sc300

I'd love to say that I would be in the market for it. However, right now I have 3 car payments and a motorcycle payment. I don't think that I could swing it. The car is super sweet. I have been thinking about it since you mentioned it the other day. I was like...is it an SC?...It's got to be an SC...who would put a 2jz in anything else...well somone would...I hope not...yeah it's gotta be an SC. OK, now you think I'm a psycho, right? Nah, just a carguy!

Are there going to be any other covered installs going on at Lightspeed in the near future?

Lol I know what you mean. Sometimes I go weeks without reading the boards.

BTW-Merry Christmas everyone.

That's the plan. The body kit is next, and we will probably do brakes, clutch, and turbo.

Cool! If there's something that needs to be tested for an article and may take a couple days for install & someone else can't be w/o their car for very long, mine isn't my daily driver...
