Revolution Caravan from the STL

Who all is going from STL? And if you haven't registered, why the hell not ... read my announcement. The Revolution really is the best event going today, and it's in our back yard. Any "I gotta work" or "I gotta scrub my deck" excuses are totally lame. We've all had months to plan and schedule around the dates, there's no reason why every rotary owner in STL shouldn't attend.

So whoever is going, let's get a caravan planned. I'll probably be leaving early afternoon from Belleville, IL ... along with quite a few 7 owners. If that doesn't work for many of you, how about somebody else plan a 5-6pm or so caravan from a central location. A bunch of guys driving together does make it more fun.

Also, party in my hotel room Friday night. ALL of the Revo spokesmodels have said they'll be there, where will you be :D

Whopping 0 replies ... has everybody in STL turned lame?

Yes, actually. Going to DC that weekend. The new clutch from Racing Beat has arrived by the way.

W00T! ... a reply, unfortunately a lame one :)

I spend my weekends working on our lakehouse, sounds like fun though

BOOSTD 7 04-11-2005 09:25 PM

Can't take a weekend off? This is only the best rotary event in the world ... seriously

Relentless 04-11-2005 11:44 PM

Hey Ryan -- you said the PTP Turbo 8 is going to be there? Did they say when their kit is going to be available? It is better looking than the SSR, though I think they use the same turbo. And if the SSR is making 287whp, I don't think 300whp is a stretch with the RP mid pipe and pulleys.

PTP is sponsoring. We are waiting for some information they are supposed to send us for the news article about them sponsoring, attending and bringing the RX8 up with them. I'm sure the announcement will happen today or Wednesday.

I've been working on it for 2 years now and do not want to lose momentum. It was basically a gutted house and I have replaced all the systems---myself. I still have the living room, dining room and loft to rehab-- another 2 years. maybe I'll go in 2008 when I retire :D __________________

Come on guys, this really is ridiculous ... no 8 owners from STL are going? I joke, but it's the sad truth that the STL club has turned incredibly lame.

Check this thread, http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.ph...=1#post4245795

Lots of 7 guys going, you could caravan with us ... or come on your own later. Just friggin come, geez. The best event going today is only 3 1/2 hours away and nobody is interested. All I can do is shake my head.

My caravan won't be doing some crazy 120mph shit, I can't afford a ticket. I'll be driving conservatively, especially if I'm towing my '87.

nomopistons 04-13-2005 07:01 PM

Let me be blatantly honest, I have nothing in common with anyone on this forum except for owning a Mazda product. If I were 1/2 my age I would probably drop everything and go.

I did in '84 with the Mustang club when they went to Indy. Now I'm married, 52, have 2 houses, multiple cars, a wife and an 8 yr old daughter, a 25 yr old step daughter and a 2 yr old grandchild. Ask me if this leaves any time for anything. The family members have no interest in car events. Hell, I traded in a conversion van on the 8-did not want the Grandpa image, plus gas mileage sucked big time.

I know that your post is a shotgun approach to rally the 8 owners, but we all have lives.

BOOSTD 7 04-14-2005 10:03 AM

And I know there are a lot of 8 owners here that don't have excuses, they're just lame ...

Anybody, no matter how much you have going on, could make it if they wanted to. With 6 months notice, there's absolutely no reason why not. The bottom line is that nobody here wants to go, and that's just sad. For the life of me I can't understand why the demographic is so different between 7 and 8 owners. Obviously, 8 owners are going to be older and more established financially, but why is there practically NO interested in doing fun things with the car from 8 owners? I'm older and more established, but I'm totally friggin boring either ...

I don't know the exact number, but Mike says there are only like 30 RX-8 owners registered for the event. WTF, and you know, it makes me think what's the point of covering RX-8 stuff in the magazine? The owners obviously don't care, so why should I take space away from the 7 guys who are nuts-o about the cars?

I'm not lame!! I'm going! Wouldn't miss it. Those of you not going do not know what you're missing. It is a ton of fun.

Guess I'll just have to caravan with the RX-7 guys.
