Possible STL meet this weekend

Sunday, April 3rd, looks like it is going to be a high of 68 and sunny. Could this be a perfect spring day for a get together? I know our last try was pretty cold. We could meet between 2pm and 3pm, depending on what's easiest for everyone. Or any other suggestion for time is welcome. Also, how about a place to meet? Creve Coeur Park didn't work out so well last time since there are about 3 entrances to that place. Even meeting at some well known restaurant would work out. All suggestions welcome, don't be shy, let's hear them...........

Creve Couer Lake, lower level off Marine Ave- there is a fenced gravel lot across from the boat ramp which is next to the steps going to the upper level. For reasons unknown this lot is always empty

I'm pretty much up for meeting anywhere. Any suggestions from anyone else? I know Creve Couer Park was a little easier to find for some than others. We can still meet up there or if anyone has any alternate suggestions.....

anywhere im there!

Creve Coeur is cool, we just need to be more specific this time. Nomo's idea sounds good...except for the gravel. What about riverport? It's pretty easy to find and there should be plenty of room if there are no events there this weekend.

Lets meet at a Nissan dealer :D

baseballgenius80 03-30-2005 03:11 PM

Carguy's suggestion of Riverport (UMB Bank Pavilion) sounds good. Big open parking lot, with only one entrance as opposed to three at Creve Couer Park where we might not find each other. Riverport sounds good to me if everyone else is in agreement. Or if there are any other suggestions.....besides a Nissan dealer. We wouldn't want to make all of those Z's look terrible with our 8's rolling up. That just wouldn't be very nice of us.

Just kidding

Saturday at 6pm. BBQ and showoff at Lightspeed Motorsports just off 170 on Olive. If you're interested, there is a cruise at 3pm going from Performance Engineering to Lightspeed.

Well, I think my participation in anything going on this weekend is now off. My car was rear ended Thursday morning on my way to work and then thrown into the car in front of me. The front driver side is now banged up and my trunk is all dented in. Needless to say, I now have a terrible case of whiplash. I'll probably lay in bed all weekend crying about the damage to my 8. It can't get repaired soon enough.

carguy425 04-03-2005 10:09 AM

Hey genius, I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear of your misfortune. I hope that they make your 8 better than new and you are properly compensated (if possible).

baseballgenius80 04-03-2005 01:18 PM

So far I'm being told there is just over $10,000 worth of damage and the guy who hit me does NOT have insurance. Of course I do, and it is all covered under uninsured motorists. But what this guy is putting me through really sucks. Probably be two weeks before it's back on the road, but might be coming out with a custom paint job since they have to repaint the car anyways. Just can't wait to have her back.

What kind of custom paint?

Car is currently Lightning Yellow. Thinking about adding a black stripe down the middle of the car about the width of the grill. It would start by trimming out the grill and run all the way to the back. Where the stripe would cross the hood at the point where the rotor shape is in the hood, we were thinking of running alternating yellow and black stripes fading from thin to thick running perpindicular to main black stripe, creating a louvered affect. Just an idea though, have yet to see it in pictures to know if I will go with it for sure.

I would like to invite all of the STL RX8 owners to meet with us in Indy for a great weekend. There'll be more RX8 owners here than anywhere else in the country. Plus you can caravan out with the other rotary owners. Take your car for a spin on the two autocross tracks, two days of drag racing, optional road course (with in-car instruction), and numerous rotary related seminars.

Click my signature for more information! Online registration ends this Friday, we'd love to have all of you attend.

I'd hightly suggest you talk to the body guys at DaVinci for your paint work. Although I wouldn't reccoment a 8 owner take their car to DaVinci for service work ... I have no reservations reccomending them for body work. After all, they did my M3 and are currently doing both my RX-7's.

Oh, and ditch the 1985 bumble-bee paint scheme ;) Take a look at the House of Kolor color guides and you'll forget all about it. Something like a Lotus/McLaren metallic yellow-orange color would look killer on an 8. And if you want to go crazy, put some heavy gold flake under the candy ... and some ghosts paint work somewhere on the car :D
