Tried it. Think I did it wrong... Retry later tonight. Also my negative terminal snapped. Dammit!

Tried the odo thing too. But didn't work. Its a solid CEL and then blinks around 4000 rpms..

Went to AutoZone... got CEL checked. came back as misfire... cleared. was going good for about 10 miles....

then the CEL blinked again... Now its staying on! I know I need to change spark plugs, but is it more related to the underdrive pulley or coincedence? I know some 8s had spark pulg problems.

TonyVS12385 quazmosis is correct. The brake tap is necessary and some easy driving for the first 100 miles or so will give you much better results with your UD pulleys.

The brake tap is done by turning the ignition on
then tapping on the brake pedal as fast as you can till you see the oil pressure gauge sweep up and then back down. Turn car off and then back on.

Make sure your eshaft position plate is on the car (sits behind the main drive pulley). Without that the car is almost running blind.

... too true StealthTL

Another place to check for winter tires already setup is craigslist

Sometimes you can get rims and tires for less than you'd think.

Ok now the site is up.

I figured out in Linux it had 2 firewalls running and one was not configured so it auto locks the net card...

Glad it is up that is one less thing I have on my to do list!

Now I can start administering it and see how much nicer the new format is.

Those that had Avatars they are listed in www.mnrx8club.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=427

Keep an eye out for my red 8! It's actually in my garage now (never a good thing) lol. Flooded- seems to be a common problem with them, that's twice in 4 months now. Have the plugs pulled for 3 days now- got new ones ordered $200. Crazy! But I'll be out n about with it soon tho...Maybe see you around.

Testing the waters - Nov. 1 meet

It's been a while since the last meet so I'm throwing this out. I think we'd all like to see another meet before we put 'em away/put on the Winter rubber. Saturday Nov. 1 for lunch at a location TBD.

Post back if your interested and to add something new, shoot back topics you'd like to know more about we can talk about. For example, I think we've all read (or should have read) about the dangers of 5W-20 oil in the summer, but I'd like to know if anyone uses it in the Winter. I drive my 8 year round and have gone back and forth on the idea.

Time and location TBD if there's enough interest.

BEEP!

Are all of you using something other than 5W20? I've read and read about it, but the majority of the posters where from the South. I just assumed it was because its way hotter down there. Our summers up here arent that bad. You guys running 5W30? Or even thicker up here?

I started putting 5w30 in this summer when I got my car. I'm not sure what to do for the winter. What does everyone use up here?

I had my oil changed at the dealer (Morries, where I bought it) and they put in 5W-30 without my asking. My last oil change wasn't at the dealer and even though I asked for 5W-30 they used 5W-20

I guess it was my fault for going cheap, stupid coupon, but since Mazda boosted the engine warranty I'm not too worried.

Again, since I drive mine year round and Winter's here are colder than the current stock market I'm curious about other local people's $.02

Anyone up for Nov. 1???? Major's in Saint Louis Park for lunch?

Anyone, Bueller, anyone?

How was Morries to work with? I was in talk with them on trading my AT for an MT back in the day. Then backed out at the last minute.

I have personally had bad luck with Morries Mazda in Minnetonka. I did end up purchasing my 8 through them but it was by no means a smooth purchase.

What was the verdict on winter oil?

Also what was the verdict on the Nov. 1st meet?
