i go to wilkens all the time. good ppl. never had any problems with them. they never took my change or broken anything. i even left 200 in the glove department on accident, and it was still there. i had my doors fixed there several times because of the noise, they willing did it over. also, they replaced my speakers on one of my doors. they did all my warrenty stuff. so i had a good experience with them.

I've not had mine long enough to need service so I cannot comment on Oak Lawn Mazda. (Quickly knocks on head)

I bought my car from and use Wilkins also.
I have a problem with The Autobarn of Countryside. They said they voided the warrenty on my transmission due to abuse.

I've only had my car for about 2,100 miles... 3 months in storage. While it was in storage I would start it up, let it warm up and so on. Well, one time I couldn't get it to start. Between my old man and I, I m sure we did everything wrong in trying to start it. Wilkins aranged the tow-out of my 'rents garage, took it to the dealership, unflooded it, did an oil change, replaced the spark plugs... All free of charge.
If they keep taking care of me like this maybe I will be a customer long enough to by a Buick from them the day I get my AARP card.

In a couple of months, I will be old enough to have a AARP card. I still won't touch a Buick. My 8 is at Wilkins Body Shop at this moment.

I've had pretty good experiences with Schaumburg Mazda and Biggers Mazda also. Last time I was at Schaumburg Mazda though the service manager gave me a pretty hard time about replacing my spark plugs under warranty due to a CEL. Told me it was a "one time thing". So since then I've been using Biggers and those guys are great, fixed a dent in my fender for free.

ehhh experience at Schaumburg Mazda

A not so negative reaction, but enough to get me thinking...

I brought my car in for a sun visor replacement and asked if they could remove a couple of marks from my seat since I have the interioir warranty as well. I have the sand interior that comes with the Shinka package. I was unclear what that exactly meant b/c the person who sold me the car at Autobarn told me that it covers stains as well. So I show the service guy my interior and said that they "don't cover aftermarket interiors." i replied that it was stock and I bought the car new. "That's the first time i've seen this interior, because the shift boot should match as well." (He later told me that the interior only covers defects; so who is right, Service or sales?) Anyways, I'm walking around the lot during the repair and--low & behold--there's ANOTHER shinka on the lot, except it was A/T.

[Oh yeah, I just remembered something. When i took in the car the first time to get the visor checked out, I asked if removing the visor for the meantime would void the warranty work. The same guy told me that since it had a lighted mirror, I wouldn't be able to since it's hardwired and they had to go into the headliner, and the wires didn't go into a harness. Rrriiiighttt.]

So the repair is done and he tells me exactly what the interior warranty covers, and claimed that they didn't have the right equipment to clean my seats because he didn't want to take the chance to stain my seats. So I'm wondering what would happen if I brought in my car to get detailed...

So it's a not so positive and not so negative experience. Just ehhhh. I will try Biggers next time.

Biggers Mazda in Elgin are great, bought my 8 there. Service dept is top notch. They know what they are doing and are willing to work with you on all MS upgrades if you're interested in them.

A++
