I'm in Michigan, but in the Detroit area, Birmingham, MI. Getting a new engine in my RX8, 18,000 miles, had plugs changed, rough idle, stalls out while driving, had it towed into the dealership three times in one week................. Started in Februay. Not good.

Roxi,
If you don't mind me asking, did they say what the issue with the engine was? Since you noticed this back in February, what have they tried during that time?

Yea I think Roxi is pretty much having the same problem I was having, Huge power loss and loss of accleration and the car plain out just preformed bad...
3 months without my car and Tomorrow at 3pm I will be picking up my new Rx-8. Mazda ended up buying my old one back.
and guess what? My old car is sitting at the dealership in Sterling heights still in pieces because they can't find out whats wrong with it.
I will be going driving to the dealership in Sterling Heights Thursday to get all my after market stuff off my old car so I can put it all on my new car.
I am so excited to be driving a REAL car again.
If any of you guys are having problems with your car, I can tell you what you need to do, Just let me know if you have any questions. I'm pretty much an expert about getting Mazda to buy their cars back.
Its SO FRUSTERATING!!!!!!!!!

New Engine Finally
I finally picked up the car after is was in the shop for one month. Replaced engine, battery, starter, plugs, core, and sun visor. Had to pull the engine from below with the trans, pulled her apart back to the fuel tank, front suspension had to be taken off etc. Nothing like destroying your heart. Check engine light came on twice while they were road testing it, but haven't had a problem since they had me pick it up. I'm waiting to go sign off as Mazda is taking it back. What a heart breaker.
