Free Scheduled Maintenance In St Louis

OK. So, I took my car to Bommarito Mazda on Manchester for my first "free" scheduled maintenance today. I handed them my card and they asked what it was. I told them the (abbreviated) story and that those of us who opted for this, get free scheduled maintenance for the life of the warranty.

THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD ABOUT THIS!

This came down from Mazda, when, in August? And they haven't even heard about it? Obviously, no one has used their card at this dealer yet, but to not even know about it?

I find it hard to believe MNAO didn't send some kind of notification to all of the dealers to let them know about this.

So, my question - has anyone in the St Louis area used their free scheduled maintenance card at any local dealer yet? If so, where, and how was your experience?

This was the second time I took my car to this dealer for an oil change, and I don't get a real comfy feeling about the service department.

I can't answer your question directly, but I can tell that I won't use Bommarito's service dept if I don't have to. My dad just picked up a Mazda3 few weeks ago and we took it in for a airbag problem. When we picked up the car I requested to see the service area and it just didn't appeal to me as a place I'd like to take my new car for any kind of work. When I get my 8 I'll be doing most of my own maintenance work.

XCENTRIC - was that the Bommarito Mazda in St Peters or Ballwin?

Actually, the one in Ballwin looked OK, the service guys were just a little bit clueless in regards to the RX-8.

St. Peters. I just picked up the 3 today. The service guys are nice, but IMO the service bays looked cramped. I can just picture a tech accidently hitting cars next to them when trying to maneuver around the shop.

jonalan -

first of all...what's up! long time no talk. (we never did get together for lunch...that sux.)

anyway, i had my first free oil change at bommarito st. peter's on oct. 28th 2003. (i did not, and still don't, have my free maintenance card.) when i got to the cashier and saw that i had been charged i had to remind them of the free maintenance thing. (i was, in fact, the first one to use it there.) the service manager (the one with black hair and a mustache) said, "oh you're the first one. we're not sure how to enter it in our system yet but no problem." he sent me on my way with my receipt and they handled whatever they had to handle on their end. didn't charge me.

i've had the 8 in there 3 times since i had it (1st oil change, passenger seat scratch repair and this oil change) and have been satisfied with their work and courtesy every time.

it's getting close to time for my next oil change and i'm hoping the dealership here in san diego has service that's just as good.

ELX13 - Hey Dude! Hope you're enjoying the weather out there in SD. It was 2 here this morning!

My wife use to take her Mazda to Bommarito St Peters and always had good things to say about them. I could see a dealer not knowing about the free service in October, but I went in December!

Oh well. The Bommarito on Manchester is more convenient for me since I work in Chesterfield. But, if I'm not happy with them on the next go 'round, I may give the St Peters guys a chance.
