Flywheel change done in Detroit/Ann Arbor Area
Anyone out there had the flywheel changed over to either MS or Racing Beat in the Detroit or Ann Arbor area?
I am interested to have it done but would like to use someone who has some experience doing this on an RX8.
Can anyone out there help?

I would suggest a dealership but first it would be too expensive and second, I think my dog knows more about the RX8 then some of their techs

Unfortunately for me, I share your view of dealership techs. I am currently feeling their "effects".
By the way, how much does your dog charge for an oil change?

Clears are extremely easy....I think it took me less than 15 minutes using only a screwdriver. You should be able to handle it....there are instructions (with pics) I believe in the DIY forum.

I was going to try taking those out. What type of tool would you recommend to work best? I was thinking just a flathead screwdriver, or maybe some small needle-nose pliers, but until I see the parts I am not sure.
There is always something to be said about having the right tools for the job...
Oh, and sorry for hijacking this thread... didn't mean too. I'm sorry I don't know of any reputable places to do a flywheel, but read on the boards about the guy who is having issues with his, and it might make you reconsider doing it in the first place.

Agree about the hijacking thread thing...sorry.
Yes, flat blade, needle nose, and a small pair of snips made it very easy. Wiggle the reflector loose, cut it where you can, and use the needle nose to bend it and pull it out.
