This regional forum has an awfully broad reach, but for those anywhere near the Kansas City or Topeka metro area, DPE is hosting our monthly track day (evening) this Wednesday, June 8th. The events start at 5pm, with cars on track at 6pm. These are road course events, run on the 1.8 mile configuration. You can expect 3 10-minute sessions (maybe more, maybe less depending on daylight and number of participants), which is a good value considering the total cost is $35.

All cars and experience levels are welcome, and there are plenty of instructors on hand to help the new guys figure things out. The point of these events is to introduce people to road course driving in a safe, low-cost environment, and of course to provide track time to the experienced guys in a safe, low-cost environment . The events are run with a full safety team on-site, and SCCA corner workers at every station. They are run at full-speed, but passing is only allowed on two of the straights. Great fun, and a great way to spend a Wednesday evening. And I can guarantee two RX-8s will be out there, so don't be shy .
