HIN in Indi wasn't all that great. After seeing sooooo many civis with verticle doors and way too many all show no go cars you get kind of bored. There were only 2 RX8s there and the only mods they had were done to the sound system and body. One was from Circuit City which I had already seen the week b4 at Formula D - which had a better showing of cars. There were a couple Skyline GTRs there that were worth looking at as well as a Ford GT and Lamborghini. Other than that not much worth looking at. I think I need to visit a bigger show than Indi to see something really cool. After about an hour of looking at the cars I was bored as hell, then I discovered the main stage with the glow go dancers and DJ Miss Lisa was spinning. Then I realized I liked the music aspect of this show much more than the cars. I got a bunch of free stuff. Toward the end of the night the Rockstar booth was being raided by everyone so I got a bunch of cans until the booth guy got pissed off everyone was raiding it and asked us to leave. They were handing out a ton of these "Drifting 101" dvds with clips from the drift bible. I fear random civic owners trying to get sideways on the way home. The women were gorgous, but it was really dark and the flash on my camera phone sucks so I don't have any pictures.

Of the two, Formula D was better. They had much better venders (I wish I had loaded up on T-shirts and DVDs there, but I though HIN is bigger and bound to have more cool stuff), better refreshments, show cars that could really go, and drifting. But HIN did have the music and the ladies. I may still go to the one in Chicago on July 29th since it's bigger and will also have a drift demo.

Sorry to hear it was such a bummer. What kind of exterior mods did those 8's have?

My 8 will now be joining the tit grey one at Jake Sweeny Body Shop:
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/blue-8-vs-flying-plastic-bumper-cover-92622/

The one 8 that had mods just had the Mazdaspeed side skirts, exhaust, JDM clear corners, and those fin tings on the side. Nothing special. I'd have loved to see a RE Amemiya kit, but none were in attendance. Circuit City and Chevy had the same cars they brought to FD, and that 8 wasn't all that spectacular. The Mazda 6 with 11 subs caught some people's eye, but I find all that rather rediculous. I think Rhyse Millen's Solstice that was at the HIN show was just a replica because they never popped the hood to reveal the monster underneath. At FD everybody and their momma's jaw dropped when they saw what that thing was running.

Dude, thats a bummer man. On my way home from my parents house tonight I was going south on 71 and there were tons of shredded tires and wood and abunch of other jazz on the highway..it was crazy!

Im kinda tired of seeing the mazdaspeed body kit, everyone has it. When I get enough money I am going to put 19's and get the RMagic body kit with the eye lids and get my car dropped about .5 - 1.0 inch to fill the wheel wells good.

I def want to see that Nacho Libre movie. Im a huge Jack Black fan. How was Fast & Furious 3?

I'm going to have to scratch on competing since my car is going in to the body shop Monday. I think it's just cosmetic damage that was done to the car and the suspension and wheel feel the same, but since the piece did go under the car I'm not sure if there's additional damage, I don't want to risk agravating it even more at the autox and having insurance refuse to pay for it due to me racing. I'll be there to watch though.

F&F3 had the most believable plot of the series. It was pretty well made, but it was also like watching a hour and a half ad for Veilside. I give it a B- for its entertainment value.

anybody on here from the westside? I just moved back to the westside and see WAY more 8's over here than when i lived in Hyde Park, which seems really strange to me. I see at least 3-4 a day, where as in Hyde Park I saw maybe 1 a week. Anyways, i was just curious

Haha - that's me again There's a black 2006 with temp tags parked in the lot next to my apartment on Observatory. Looks like a base model, hard to tell. Anyone?

Well if anyone here gets a wave from someone in a light blue g35 this week it's me in my rental car. There's still a tit grey being worked on at Jake Sweeny. I'll try and point the owner to post here if they're not on the board already.

As far as getting it as a rental car goes, I bought the biggest rental policy with my insurance so I could make sure I got something closer to what I actually drive. Plus I work for Enterprise, so I just had to call an office with it and ask.

It's the 4 door. I don't think Enterprise would spring for the coupe. It is the rear wheel drive one though. It doesn't handle as good probably due to it not being as well balenced as the 8 is and you can really feel all the extra weight. It does have a lot of power though. It can do what the 8 does at 6-7k rpm at 3k rpm. The engine is pretty quiet and the ride is smooth, but it's not really suited to my driving style. I drive more not to lose speed and maintian a constant speed while cornering. This car you have to sacrifice more speed, but it makes up for it in power and gaining speed back.

Feature wise, it's kind of a tie. The G features one click down and up for the front windows, and the sunroof closes with one click too. You sit up higher in the G which I don't like, although I do like the leather they used in it a little better. Nissan puts the mirror controls in the most rediculous places, they're on the side of the steering wheel in the G and it took me about 5-7 minutes of serching to find them. I also don't like the analog clock. I know it looks more luxurious, but the digital clock on the 8 gets the job done mighty well. The stero display is also better on the 8, since all I have to do is look off a bit to the side to see time or what track the cd is on, in the G you have to take your eyes completly off the road to check it.

I'll probably take it down a couple of my favorite roads to get a better idea of how it performs, but I really miss my 8. It so much better suited for me than this car is. ... Now if it were the $100k Mercedes SL500 that one of my coworkers is driving around right now It may be a different story.

Yea, my uncle just bought a SL500 this past xmas. Absolutely amazing. I'm suprised that enterprise doesnt have these in their fleet. (notice the sarcasm) I need to go "borrow" my uncle's sometime, its just a shame that my aunt is a b*tch. Cause he would let me take it in an instant.

Would anybody in the Cinci area be interested in a Hymee exhaust? I have one available for purchase at significantly less than retail, maybe around $300 or so. Thought I'd ask in here first since I've met at least one of you before and it would be a much easier transaction being more "local". Not much rotary activity up here in Dayton.

Nodoz has heard this package on my car at a meet earlier in the year. I thought It sounded awesome with my previous setup, but was too loud for my taste with the superCat installed. PM me if you are interested.

I will vouch that the Hymee exhaust sounds rather nice. I'd even consider buying it, but my extra cash is going toward my deductible now.

We actually do carry the Mercedes C230, which would have been my second choice to drive, but C class and S class are like night and day. I probably could have gotten a spin behind the wheel of the SL, but I don't like playing with fire too much - and that's all I'll say about that car and how it came into my co-worker's possesion for a day. In California you can get an S500 and I think they had a few 350Zs at one time as well because one of the car sale branches on the east coast had one for sale. Of course Hertz does have the Shelby GT500 Mustang at the airport.

I just got my car back yesterday. Jake Sweeny bodyshop is awesome. They took out all trace of damage and even got this scuff of the passenger side buffed out. They even saved me on my deductible. One of the guys gave me an extra tire that they pulled off anoter 8 that they were just going to throw out, but he knew I didn't have a spare and called to offer it to me for my favorite price - free. I definatly recommend you take your car there to remove any unwanted damage.

Turpin Hills is in Anderson..right? Off of Beechmont Ave? During my job, I see alot of 8s driving around over there. I saw a beautiful blonde lady a few weeks back and said hello. She was backing out of the parking spot as I was delievering ice to Clermont Springs Deli. She had a red 8 but it was an auto. I was standing there with over 450lbs of ice on the dolley just talking to her about her car and I mentioned to her that I drive a black one and see how she liked her car.

Anybody have plans for the weekend and the 4th?

Kellybrf, I drive a black 8 and I am on the eastside too!
