I'm pleased to annouce the first annual 417rotary Lakes Rally!

The drive is under way and in full swing, now all we need is more peeps!! Big thanks to the Joplin crew for stepping up and joining in on the fun. So plans have been set and flyers have been made, I just can't wait till the 21st ;) Here's the details.

Springfield Crew:
We are meeting at the "Shop" parking lot @ 10 am; just west of Grizzly's. In case you don't know where it's at here's the address: .
There's plenty of space and easy access for a bunch of cars.


Joplin Crew:
Initially you will meet up at the Snak Attack on 44th St. in Joplin at 8:30 a.m. Here is the link for the location.


Then you will depart from Joplin at 9 or so and meet up with the Springfield crew at the "Shop" here in Springfield @ 10 a.m.


Departure time will be at 10:30 am and the Springfield / Joplin crews will be caravaning up to Bagnell Dam via this route:


It should take roughly an hour to hour and a half to get to the dam; which would put us around 12. Factor in 2 hours of us hanging out at the damn waiting for others to arrive, taking group pictures and chit chatting. Once we gather at the Dam around 12, we will depart the dam around 2 and caravan to the H. Toad.


We have a room reserved @ 2:30, for us to gather and enjoy a more private / quite atmosphere. The Sky's the limit on how long you want to stay but some of us may be spending the night. For more information on where we are eating follow this link!

Sounds like fun Chris, I would be there but I leave for China that morning. Unfortunatly the meets always happen at the same time I go on trips.

I'm in the St. Louis area and would be down, Adam were you planning on driving to springfield and then doing the drive to the lake?

No way, if I do come down ill just be meeting up at the lake. Should be about a 2 hour drive since it will be umm faster than usual.

I'll definently go with you in my 8 then and see if any of my friends would want to go too. A 3 hour drive in 2? should be a spirited drive haha.

I don't blame you guys for not wanting to join the cruise from here all the way from St.Louis. I am glad to see you guys gathering and coming up with your own caravan to meet us out there though. It sucks K.C. and STL don't have at least a forum specifically to rotaries anymore.

A couple more weeks away! I'm looking forward to meeting up and seeing new faces. You guys round up any more people?

I live in St. Charles, but have a lake house near Gravois Mill. I guess I can find a excuse to bring the 8 down there.

That would be excellent if you could make it! Just having one extra rotisserie there makes things better. :evil_laug

we could meet in columbia at 10:30 and caravan down that way we can get stl and kc guys together

There are some columbia guys that drive 7's that are making their way to the meet! I'll find out where they are planning on meeting first and post it here.

I'll be down to the lake this weekend, but sadly without the 8. Parents don't want to ride in it because of size and we don't want to take two cars down.....Sad Panda

if it's just raining i will probably go but if it's heavy t-storms like they are saying i may not make it

I made a more detailed destination point for all of us to meet at the dam in the clickable google maps. If you look we are parking in the lot on the southern side of the Dam... Follow Valley road to Legion road to get to it. If any one has any questions call Chris at 417-631-3094

Looks like the weather is going to be nice today! Chance of showers %30, but isolated in Springfield! So that means pretty much no rain... The lakes are calling for no rain with a high in the 80's. Looking forward to seeing you guys there!!!!

Man, this was a blast! Not many showed up, but it was still fun. The weather was absolutely perfect. Cheers for putting so much work into this! :D

yea was a good time nice to meet you and the other rotarheads. just make sure you make it to como on the 4th and help your rotary brethren represent.

Agreed, I certainly had a good time. It's unfortunate that the weather scared off a lot of people. I was really interested in meeting some other RX-8 owners! I know I'll be up for the Como June 4th meet.
