Request for Help: Albuquerque, NM

Long story short, my sister has an 8 down in NM and has had some major headaches with it. She had some power loss issues along with some other warranty items and is ready to give up on her 8. Now she's complaining that the last time she went in with the power loss issue and they replaced the CAT she is now hearing some additional sounds coming from the engine. I'm not sure if it's our good friend the marbles sound or what it could be.

Since it's hard for me to do much from the East Coast (and I'd probably be just as useless if I were in NM) I was hoping a fellow rotorhead might be willing to meet up with her at some point and help take a peek to see if you are able to see what the dealerships aren't seeing. She's in Albuquerque near Lomas and Wyoming I believe but I'm sure she'd drive to see someone that could help her out. I see that you guys just had a meet and that would have been perfect but of course I'm a day late and dollar short.

Anyone out there that could help her???:fingersx:

I do not know that much myself about the rotary engine. The one and only place that I would trust to diagnose the problem would be Tom at Rotary RX! Here is a link with the info to his shop

http://rotaryrx.com/

I hope that this helps out. After my experience with the dealer I would not reecomend them for any work outside of warenty work (just because it is sopposedly free).

What dealer has she taken it too? If she is using Garcia then that is the problem. If it is university then she needs to talk to service manager about the warranty work and insist that all issues are taken car of. I know that the CAT can make big headache for people and power. My car ran so much better with the mid pip on. Probably the biggest difference of anything that I had done prior. But emmission swap every two years might be a pain and costly if you have to hire someone.

But Rotary RX other than the dealer is the only other shop to have work on it.

Thanks for the link. She's tight on funds right now so I don't know how soon she'd be able to hit the shop. I'm hoping a fellow owner wouldn't mind her swinging by and just have a listen/look to see if there's anything obviously wrong with the car. If not though it may do her well just to head into see Tom to see if he can figure it out.
