Hey folks, good morning.

So, ah, go or no go on the meet? Is there an official decision?

I believe that's a negative, no go for this weekend. We will try again next weekend. Although the forecast is snow for then too, but that is still a week away, so we won't put too much credit in that forecast. :)

I'm about to go out in the snow now, so I'll let you guys know how the snow is down here when I get back. Later!

Hi RX_999, and welcome to the Mountain Forum!

We've just formed the Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club for folks who live in the area, and will be having meets and such. We'd love to have you join us! Check out our website (in my sig block) and drops us an email at the club's address (also in my sig) if you'd like to become a member.

So tell us about your '8! Color, where you bought it, how you like it, etc... :D

Yup, it's a no go unless we have a miracle and the roads clear...

Icanrel-8 02-01-2004 11:24 AM

OK, I'll be counting rotary beads...

Omicron 02-01-2004 12:57 PM

Dunno, starting to look pretty good. Roads are melting, and my be just wet. Do you think we should do it???

doccable 02-01-2004 01:56 PM

Well, I don't wanna be known as the "waffle guy", but we ARE going to do this thing after all. I just spoke to Omicron, and there are enough out there who are going to show up. Anyone who is interested, we'll see you there! I posted driving directions on the last page from Aurora, in cluding a link to mapquest.
See you all in Longmont!

Sorry I am just replying I got my RX8 in May. Love this car so much, best car I have ever owned. I currently live in Colorado Springs.

Omicron 07-04-2004 04:42 PM

Very cool, another Colorado owner... welcome! Where did you buy your car, and what color/option package is it?

And even more importantly, have you been to our Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club website yet? :D

Nice to see ya here.

Another new RX-9 owner in Colorado! I just bought my RX-8 last Friday.

Red exterior with Red/Black leather, G/T, Appearance, Rotary emblems, Nav system. I bought the whole package at a dealer in the Springs and drove it back to my home near Boulder!

serff 07-08-2004 09:49 AM

I live next to Stanley Lake (near the old Rocky Flats Plutonium Processing Plant) and JeffCo Airport. Let's just say, the trace plutonium in the water really makes my car "glow"! ;-)

another Colorado RX-8 owner here

I bought my RX-8 in early May. It's Titanium Grey, all black leather, 6 speed manual, grand touring package, nav system, all the available upgrades (no spare tire kit or spoiler). She's an absolute dream! I live in Littleton and bought her at McDonald. As a side note - the rim around my moon roof has some cracks - have any of you experienced the same? LMK, and great to know there's so many other locals who have this wonderful vehicle!

I haven't noticed any cracks around my moon roof. Do you mean the actual trim ring around the moon roof is cracked? Does the moon roof leak?

corockies 07-14-2004 11:26 PM

moon roof rim cracking

yes, the rubber exterior rim around the roof has some cracks in it. About four small tears all the way around. I'm not too worried about it, it should be covered under warranty work. :) The roof does not leak fortunately.

CUE2's RX-8 07-15-2004 07:40 AM

Hmmm . . . I wonder if I should start putting something on that strip to preserve the rubber.

Wow, that's an old post. :)

Welcome to the Mountain forum jessCO, and to soon being an RX-8 owner. It's a wonderful car with a real following. You're gonna love it! :D

Be sure to come by and get yourself signed up over at The Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club too.

zmarko 09-06-2004 10:50 AM

Hey guys. Hope you don't mind me posting here. I signed up a few months back when I was doing some research on the RX8. I've actually been lurking on the board here for awhile, but signed up just for fun.

Anyway, I own a '93 RX7 R1. I'm going to be moving to Colorado probably in the spring of '05. Somewhere near Denver. I've been looking at the NW side of Denver (Longmont, Boulder), and the Fort Collins/Loveland area as well.

I've been on your sister site www.rx7club.com for years now, but recently while looking for a local (to Colorado/Denver) Rotary Car club, I've been having trouble locating one. I see that you guys have an RX8 club, but didn't know if you knew of a generic Rotary club local to you.

Any help would be fantastic. Thanks. I can't wait to move out there (been a life long dream of mine). Also, if anyone has any tips on where exactly to live (Longmont is at the top of my list at the present time), feel free to PM me. :) Thanks again.

serff 09-07-2004 10:32 AM

Hey zmarko,

You should deffinately come check out the Rocky Mountain RX8 club website. There is info there about our meet.

As for a local RX7/general Rotary club, there used to be an RX7 club in Denver, but they seem to have died off. We threw around the idea of making the Rocky Mountain RX8 club a general rotary club, however, we already have a lot of members and for our first year, we didn't want to over burden ourselfs. In any case, you are always welcome to come to any of the meets/get togethers, etc. Please come sign up at our website and join in the discussions there as well.
