Alarm Shock Sensor install

Omicron, I know you performed this project, and I just ordered my Alarm Shock Sensor from Elway Mazda. In short, anything tricky about the install?

I will do a search for the posts of the install, but I just wondered if you could share any words of the wise! Thanks! :D

Actually, I haven't... sorry. But there is a good DIY thread about it, here. Hope this helps.

I installed mine a few days ago.

Nothing tricky to it once you figure out that the diagrams that come with it are very poorly drawn and aren't what they initially seem (it shows a long flowing set of wires, which are actually two sets of wires, one from behind, and one group up front).

Once you know what you're looking at, it should only take about 3 minutes to clap and install. The hard part was finding the brown wire which is way up there, and then cutting it.

Once you cut it, you have to clamp both sides of it with the diode fix.... and there isn't much space to do it. It took me close to two hours to clamp the top part of that brown wire. I'm not kidding. The clamps don't stay in place, and there wasn't enough space to put both of my arms, not to mention I needed a flashlight to see....

I ended up using double sided tape to hold the clamp to a set of plyers, and using that to snap in the top brown wire.

Thanks for the link Omicron!

Hamilton, thanks for the additional insight. I guess I'll need to enlist the wife's help to connect the Brown wire!
