OEM 18" 5-Spoke RX-8 Rims
 

I'm looking for a really nice set of factory 18" 5-spoke rims (factory color or original shinka only). NO Curb Damage and minimal to no nicks (required). I'm located in Houston and willing to drive a few hours to avoid having the wheels shipped. Let me know if you've got a set just sitting around and you'd rather have some money :)

I realize that rims in this conditions will cost more than a damaged set and am willing to work out a fair deal with the seller.

Also, I'm well aware of the set(s) available in the classifieds (prior to this post) but several members won't ship or their wheels arent in the condition I'm looking for "No curb damage".

Check the craigslist for Waco, Texas. My dad forwarded me a link to a guy selling what looks to be a clean set of factory wheels. Finding stock wheel without curbage or knicks is going to be hard. I got my 2006 Shinka wheels almost perfect but they do have a couple of scratches on the face and some minor tire mounting damage.

Yeah mine are not perfect, but they are great considering they have 114,000 miles on them :lol: besides from more than ten feet away you don't notice any of the imperfections anyway. Just look at the shit load of pics I have posted in the "Calling all Velocity Reds"

yeah, that's what i thought. mine wore pretty torn up, but 10+ feet away you'd have no idea. he could always have them refinished too...at your price, that would probably even out to the time searching + premium he'd pay for his "mint" wheels.

Yeah for about $300.00 you could have them done in just about any finish possible. If they don't sell I will probably have them done in blue or some shit and just use them for Driveway Austin :)

I'd prefer to pay more for some pristine rims that haven't been curbed than to spend my money or time trying to match the OEM color (or worse yet paying someone to do it).

not really hating man. actually 9k and i were trying to help, making sure you saw that there is a great set of wheels within 2 hours of you, that's all. :)

but seriously, i realize you put "no curb damage", but you also put "preferred"...you might want to put "mint condition only please" or "willing to pay more for mint oem wheels"...if i thought you were ONLY interested in mint wheels, i wouldn't have posted about 9k's wheels.

anyway, good luck, seriously, but i think it'll be a hard find.

My friends sold his factories that were pretty much perfect for $600.00. I understand your request, I love the stock wheels which is why I bought the Shinka wheels.

just curious, do you have an 8 and just looking for a mint set or are these going on a 3 or a 6? saw a 6 with rx8 wheels this morning, looked awesome.

Yeah, I'd LOVE a set of mint shinkas but it's tough enough finding a super nice set of standard silvers. If I could find a set of aftermarket rims I like as much as the factory RX-8 that's be nice too but I've been looking around and I don't see anything that I like that much. the search continues.

yeah i hear ya. half the reason i got the 8 was how great it looked stock. i love the oem wheels, i just needed a change after 6 years. i'll keep my eye out for a *mint* set. lol

the 09's might be cool too...the ones that are like the r3 wheels but only 18's. they might be easier to find in great condition since they're less old.

I actually just passed up a set of 2010 MS3 wheels. Kinda wishing I hadn't.
