Satellite ready?

Anyone here have their 8 with the satellite button but no satellite? I was wondering if it comes prewired for the "box" and if so where does the box install at? The dealership is wanting 625 to install the sirius box and i think that is already way too much, i was able to find an OEM satellite receiver but it was like 350, which again is not what i was looking to pay. In my previous car i was able to put a Kenwood deck and a satellite receiver all for under 300. Sirius is presistant with not wanting me to cancel my old receiver, so they sent me a free sp4 replay but i dont like the fm mod it comes with. I have been thinking about installing one of the IPOD integration modules, but is it worth it? Any ideas would be helpful.... THANKS :ylsuper:

you can get a center dash for way cheaper than that install with sat ready, it should be like cd,fm,sat, tape or something,

my last tab says Tape/MD thats where the SAT button should be, i asked about this a while back, mines a 04

I have a SAT button, but no Satelite radio. I'm trying to figure out how to activate it.

You have to go to the dealer and have the sat box installed, local one here wants 650 plus labor and tax. So instead I bought an IPOD integrator from RPM for about 150, installed in the back of the radio where the satellite port is. Took about an hour, works like a champ. I would recommend this if you already have a plug and play sat module already, as the Audio link I bought also comes with an aux input. But with my 80g IPOD i doubt i will turn my sirius back on.

If you need help doing taking about the radio, look for the thread on here. They have a very detailed step by step, with pics, on how to take it all apart. Only one tricky part, but it is well worth it.
