Hey,

My wife and I just bought a Velocity red RX-8 AT and were wondering if there were any RX Clubs in San Antonio. Haven't noticed alot of SA activity on the boards.

If there aren't any current clubs, would there be enough interest in starting one? We live in Cibolo...

Man i've been feeling the same way...have had a 8 since like July and have yet to hang with any other 8 owners in SA...have a girl who owns a 8 in my aparment complex who i've waved at once lol thats about as far as 8 owner interaction goes for me.

Own a MT 05' winning blue GT .....if we can get more interest in even just getting a group together for a little meet/hangout or whatever I would be totally up for it

^^Keep holding your breath lol. I've had mine since Aug 04 and have only met one other 8 owner in that time. I can now attend a meeting almost any day after 7pm. Any ideas for a place to meet?

dtorre, Im graduating from UTSA (feel good, you've picked a great high school ) this semester, I'll be there Wed from 7:30am to 1:30pm and next Monday at 1:30. PM if you want to just say Hi. Also I have some textbooks that are up for sale lol.

Dude we can definately try and set something up this Wed. Monday I never go to class....Wed. i'll go simply because my GF has class at St. Mary's during that time =P

well guys i used to have a blue 8 but got rid of it for a S2k this past month, and yea getting together was kind of tuff. Maybe after the holidays i can see if the S2k guys wanna get together with the 8's let me know if u want me to try to get this going.

ya that would be perfect....it could be a "high redliners" meet ...but hmm if we can get even like 8 or so people to be up for it on the 8's part then I don't see why not

Have you all looked up the Texas RXs in Austin? When I was driving my 8 in SA (Oct 03-Aug 04) they were the contact point for rotary enthusiasts (RX-7 and 8) in the area. For Mazda motoring events, keep an eye on the Bluebonnet Miata club. They discourage other vehicles in their local events, but you might pick up info about larger gatherings.

I'm up for organizing something after Christmas...it'll also give a little more time for other San Antonio 8 owners to identify themselves.

I tried to check out the TexasRxs web site but didn't find too much info. Guess I'll keep checking back to see if there's anything new there. I doubt that I'd drive to Austin for a regular meeting though.

Ok guys i got a hold of our S2k Community Orgainizer(sp) and he said he will come up with a meet/drive after the new year ill let you know the dates/ times. and will try to work together to get it going

Its a 2002 i already ordered/wating on intake system(comtech). as far a future plans go i could be here for ever. but hopefully in the next couple of months ill save up for the hard top (carbon fiber). Hey N-E- one drive a winning blue with large wing, V Red, or Yellow 8 who lives/works off Potranco? I see all three in the morning almost everyday on my way to work.

Now that the New Year is past and some of the excuses for not showing up to a meet are gone would anyone be interested in tryng to get at least a few cars together?

1. How far would you be willing to drive?
2. What time to start?
3. What day?
4. What would be a good location?

My own answers to the above:
1. I'd drive about 45 mins to a good location.
2. Anytime after 6:30pm
3. Any day after 6:30pm I always work weekends so those are out unless after 6:30pm
4. I already listed a couple, yall turn

Here's one suggestion:
Thrusday Jan 12 at 7:30pm at Taco Cabana at 1604 & Blanco.

Theres a large parking lot in the area and several places to eat that are a few hundred yards away.

Theres also another Taco Cabana at 281 & Evans Rd that has a Home Depot parking lot directly behind it. In case your wondering Im really not a huge fan of Taco Cabana they just seem to be in decent locations.

I'd like this to be "rice free" and FOR ME the main purpose of get togethers is to meet other RX owners. That said, I know little about other cars and would like to look and learn.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Won't it be dark by 07:30? Wouldn't it be better if it were still light?

I would assume a few people (myself included) would still be at work or just getting home from work if it was held too much earlier. Maybe Im wrong. As I said above, throw out some ideas.

Maybe on next monday for MLK day, people would be off from work. It's a federal holiday.

instead of hanging out in a restaurant and talk I think going for a ride would be better....
1. what you say like meeting in north start mall on the very top of their parking lot or other parking lot where we can take some cool pictures of the cars(with nice backround) and meet, than maybe go for a ride downtown...or somewhere else....and after that maybe we all can go eat somewhere...
2. 7pm sound about right.... make sure the spurs are not playing
3. Friday night 7pm
4. what do you all think.... lets doit lets plan like a week out so we dont make any other plans plans ......
