RX-Club of Houston November meeting - November 10th 2007
 

Greetings everyone,

Where is the November meeting going to be held? Who knows.

I'm going to leave this thread open until next Friday (10.12.07) for suggestions for the location and or activity for the next club meeting to be held on Saturday, November 10th. The top two suggestions will be put up for a vote.

If you recommend something be prepared to organize it as well, I may be out of town for the next meeting.

So let's hear those ideas!

11:00AM - Parking lot
Noon - Lunch
1:30PM - Drive to the seawall (Galveston)

I'm up for this meet cause it's finally on my side of town!
I don't drive an 8 though but would like to attend.

I will do my best to show. I'll also see if I can twist the arms of some of the "North" Houston guys to go as well.

Hey hey! Finally a meeting in our neck of the woods.

...and for anyone who doesn't have an 8, there's a Mazda dealership right on the other side of I-45. You can do the trip down to Galveston as a "test drive"! Heh. Just the other day I was at that dealership taking a Mazdaspeed 3 out for some rippin action. That's one hot car, raw performance-wise.


So... What to do down in Galveston? Visit the Offshore Oil Museum perhaps to keep our hungry cars satiated. Or Lonestar Flight Museum to go for a drag down the runway. Or just run down East Beach.

By the way, I see that the Smothers Brothers are performing with Judy Collins at 8pm at the Opera House that night:

I just learned that Grand Sport Speedway, the brand new racetrack near Galveston is having an Open House this Sunday, Nov 11th. It is located in Hitchcock right by the old blimp mooring masts.

I just got off the phone with the place and I was told that their Open House is starting at 9am Sunday morning and that they would love to have our RX-8 club members there. Get this...

THEY WILL LET US ON THE TRACK FOR FREE.

Just parade-type action, but if we're going to meet this weekend I think it would be great for us to get out on a race track!

We can still tag up with lunch at Hooters at 11am.

What's wrong with Sat meeting and Sunday at the track?
I am game if any wants to join. Heck I will go even if I am the only one.

The question is whether or not people are up for having a double event weekend, or if it would be better for the group to combine it into one deal. I see pros & cons either way.
