Yeah, not nearly as much time as I used to have to read them back in 2007. I do a lot of freelance work now and while a lot of people THINK you get a lot more time, you really don't, because if you aren't always taking assignments, then you aren't getting paid.

I guess I don't understand why you come on here asking for help and advice, and then when people try to help and give you some advice, you tell them no thinks.

If you knew what you were going to do all along, why even come on and ask for help?

I think I will need to get a compression test before my warranty expires, i'm near 90,000.

Apparently you didn't read the thread from the start. I didn't know what to do due to the engine issue. They suggested the warranty and I DID try that. I took it to the nearest dealership to me. So I DID take some of their advice, but advice isn't COMMANDS...just because someone suggests something doesn't MEAN they have to do it, nor do they have to justify their decisions to a forum. I appreciate the advice about the warranty because I forgot all about that and ultimately that managed to get me a new engine, so I wouldn't have thought of that if it wasn't for this board - but if people are such control freaks that they can't handle someone doing something different than what they would - that's their hang up - not mine.

I wasn't aware that when we asked for advice, we had to suddenly follow every statement to the letter. I took some advice and didn't take others. There you go.

^ good job. All is well that ends well.

:grouphug: Can't we all just get along? :p: ;)

Do what you feel is right for yourself, OP. That's what it comes down to. I'm sure we didn't mean to come at you in a harsh way, and I'm positive you already know that we were only trying to help the situation.

You're right, I'm sure many of us wouldn't personally know what additional stresses you are facing, therefore I'm very confident that you're making your very own honest effort in order to get on smoothly with your life. Trust me, I'm sure we all go through our own share, as well. :D:

Well anyway, I hope it all works out for you in the least stressful manner. Please let us know how it works out for you at the end. :)

I appreciate it - it just seems some people are so caught up in how THEY think everything should work that if I don't feel like listening to part of what they are saying, somehow that makes me wrong. There's more than one solution to every problem. That is one thing that I have noticed since I joined this board is that there seem to be a lot more condescending people than there was when I first joined.

It's all good, my friend. Now, just let everything calm down... And then everything will fall into place peacefully. (Or I'm only hoping it will at least!) :suspect:

I understand, but it's not just that. If you read this thread, I've had people giving me attitude for everything from where I decided to take my car to what BANK I financed it at. I mean, really? I understand trying to help, but then to sit there and give me attitude because I didn't choose their option (and the bank thing was just ridiculous)...I would figure most of us are adults here.

Okay, well, here's the outcome. Got the cat fixed, got the engine replaced. Got the check engine light on and Aaron said it is probably the O2 sensor because it probably got a lot of coolant dumped on it when the cat got a lot of it. He wasn't sure (I picked up the car late and the shop was closed when I got it), but I'm going to go get it read somewhere else first. It's got the same sensor from when I bought the car, so the combo of that and the coolant probably did toast it. Either way, the car drives better than it has in a LONG time (I'm pretty sure it was losing compression for awhile). So it's back in my driveway - guess I'll be staying in RX8 land a little longer. Now I just need to get a paint job (lots of dings and scratches to fix).
