Rotary Performance Shops in Houston?

I haven't made a post in this forum in over six years, and I've been out of the performance business for that long. I was wondering if anyone knows of any rotary engine performance shops in Houston.

I did a search but nothing of interest came up.

What are you looking to get done?

There are a lot of good performance shops in Houston in terms of custom fab. As for mainly Mazda...Mazmax near 290.

I'm modifying my suspension for now, but in the future I'm looking for a shop that does major power upgrades for a reasonable price.

Jtran does a lot of nice builds. I am going to be having my car worked on by them pretty soon. My friend got his car worked on by them and they are some legit people. I will be taking my car here to get worked on within the month.

Hmmm SSA does some amazing builds also...but are pretty pricey.

Both of these guys are really promising in terms of performance builds. They pretty much do everything.

sifu how much did that entire body kit run, and how much was it to get it installed/painted?

Sifu 07-15-2010 02:02 AM

Well my first kit I had was the Burnout type II lip and sides. That was around 700+ and for paint I paid around 75. (Dad works at a shop and paint deals are amazing)

Then I got my bumper from a local for a little over 100 bucks. Paint was 250 at a really good paint shop my friends go to. The owner used to paint Ferrari's. I highly recommend him!

you recommend him but i need his number or contact info then! :]
will they assemble the kit after painting it or can i just snap it on myself?

JTran is near my house. I might go by there and check it out. Thanks!

jtran does some good stuff. SSA i would stay away from, bad experiences with them. Plus they hardly know much about rotaries.

Jtran does do good work :)

SSA apparently lost their main fabricator and I think is with Jtran. Also one of the main workers at SSA just left from what I heard.

Got an address or phone # for jtran?

Thanks

No Customer Service

JTran's customer service sucks ass! They were bad about calling me back and told me they could do my car when I mentioned I had a Cobb AP. I get there and THEN they tell me they don't have the software to do it. I think they are scammers. They want $90 just to install an A-pillar pod!!!! Are you kidding me? Then the gauges are another $180 just for installation!!!!!

Ross_Dawg 11-19-2010 11:45 AM

Yeah that's a bit excessive, although I installed mine in under an hour for free, so...

Exactly!! I asked if we could negotiate on price, they said no. Also, Johnny himself said 8 hours for install but they put 10 on my quote!

If you wanted I could help you with the install. It is quite easy, just one or two tricky parts...
