Possible bring-your-mods day

Soon I have few things to do to my car maintenance wise (diff/tranny/oil fluid changes) and was thinking if anyone else needed any help with small mods Id be willing to help and/or lend tools. I have 2 jacks, some jackstands, and all sockets needed for any job (no impact wrench unfortunatly).

I'm thinking I will do this within the next few weeks if there seems to be a warm day coming up. Any interest?

Install Ideas:

-intake
-exhaust (if bolts have been loosened previously. If not, I don't have the means to take off a age-welded bolt)
-suspension work excluding aftermarket springs on struts (too much of a PITA to do anymore)
-gauges
-brake caliper painting
-expanding oil venting
-removing vfad
-short shifter
-any fluid changes
-any light bulb changes
-any maintence stuff like cabin air filter or engine air filter

let me know guys :)

Cool, I did a Seafoam a couple months ago. Never done plugs or coils but I've read the DIY and it seems easy enough. We could install that catback for ya too, seeing as the bolts have recently been loosened from putting the mp on. Let me know when you get your car back!

I need to clean the engine with the foam agent thing, also maybe paint the calipers.

Not a problem man, just let me know when you're available. Next week should be in the 70's...

For the caliper paint, you can pick some up at AutoZone I believe (same for Seafoam ($10). They usually have blue, red, black, or silver in stock for $15 or 20 IIRC.

If your going to paint the calipers you should do it right. www.G2USA.com they have high heat paint, that is incredibly durable. Also its probably going to be to cold to paint them, I think it says it should be at least 70 degrees but I would have to check the box I have at home.

Ross_Dawg 01-13-2011 11:13 PM

It's this brand: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=539677_0_0_

DocBeech 01-14-2011 01:05 AM

I used this on my 8 and if you want go ahead and look at my photos to see how it turned out. This stuff turns to rock, and is very durable. It coats on thick to so its very resiliant but smooth. I have photos if you wanna see how it turned out just click on my sig and goto brake caliper painting album.

CAUTION:
Only open cans immediately before use. Apply and use product only in dust-free, well-ventilated area. Working temperature must be between 56 - 70 degrees. Once mixed, the G2 Brake Caliper PaintSystem cannot be stored and must be used immediately - once mixed, there are only between 4-6hrs working time with the paint depending on ambient temperature. Plan the application process accordingly. Also, brake dust may contain asbestos. Wear safety clothing and a face mask while cleaning calipers.

Looks good man, the Duplicolor also works and looks very good and it's cheaper too by over $20. I painted mine about 2 years ago and they're just now starting to fade if you look real close.

I have some race ramps for the height challenged people. I can help with pretty much any of the installs as well. Someone bring the strength of he-man and put the midpipe on my car.

I have a breaker bar, but my sockets are 12 point, not 6 point so it will strip. If you were to have a 6pt 14mm socket we could probably get it on :icon5:

dozer 01-15-2011 02:36 PM

Ross_Dawg 01-15-2011 02:39 PM
