Monthly ride in DFW

What do you guys think about maybe sometime like once a month a bunch of us get together and just take a ride around the DFW area. ive seen corvettes do this and my buddy is an administrator on my350z.com and they do the same thing. just wanted to see if there was any interest.

agcutie03 11-15-2007 12:40 AM

Of course, we had a blast the last time we did it, I think it was September. I'm sure this'll get a ton of replies, let's just get something set up and I'm down. :)

cshakesby 11-15-2007 09:22 AM

ya i think it could be tons of fun. cuz i dunno about u but i love driving my 8 just to drive it haha

Uncivilizedracer 11-15-2007 11:07 AM

Sounds like a plan to me big turn out last time, hell thats what i do every weekend is cruise. Hit me up

cshakesby 11-15-2007 01:18 PM

alright well since you two think it will be a good idea, anyone who is interested state a date that you think will be best to do it.

Marquis 11-15-2007 01:56 PM

I don't have a specific date in mind but I would be willing to come down for a good drive.

Does anyone have a particular route in mind?

CosmosMpower 11-15-2007 02:04 PM

There are very few good "driving" roads in the DFW area unless you go pretty far north. Cruising around on a highway or local road is just an excuse for cops to follow you and write dumb tickets for no front plate etc. The NTS2K0C does some BBQ runs a few times a year and just did a fall colors drive as well.

v0x 11-15-2007 02:35 PM

i'm game lets find some good roads :)

Last few rides i have been on this has never happened unless your being dumb and breaking the law we had a nice couse that we ran last time it was toward ft. worth a lot of back roads with good turns and it road for about a hour a believe well have to get the group together from last time and run that route again it was hella fun.

Uncivilizedracer 11-15-2007 04:31 PM

jwebber007 11-15-2007 04:52 PM

I would be game

if we can find a few other rotary lovers...

Creto 11-15-2007 04:56 PM

There's a stretch just north of Fredericksburg that I absolutely love to drive my 8 on... map. Unfortunately, that's a ways away from the metroplex.

We'll be hitting up that area this weekend, really looking forward to it. :)

RotoMoto 11-18-2007 09:29 AM

RotoMoto's in for some miles!

Hey, let me know if this comes together. I live in Mckinney north of DFW. There are several nice roads in this area that are curvy and fun. I would love to just hang out and drive with other rotorheads no matter what kinda road we find!

cshakesby 11-18-2007 12:44 PM

hey roto where in mckinney you live. i live in mckinney also. u ever driven on those nice roads heading towards princeton?

toxin440 11-18-2007 01:34 PM

I'd be up for a ride :)

just finishing up a zaino treatment over the past 2 days...

987HYS 11-19-2007 12:00 AM

if you find the roads, they will come...

Uncivilizedracer 11-19-2007 02:10 PM

Lets do it

agcutie03 11-19-2007 02:14 PM

Why don't you two McKinney owners put together something that covers about 60 miles or so and we'll all work on the dates? I've heard nothing but excellent things from other 8 owners about the roads in that area, I just don't know my way around there well enough to put a route together. Is it possible we could do it this weekend or will everyone still be out of town for the holidays? Sunday maybe?

Creto 11-20-2007 08:58 AM

I think I'm avail sunday.

cshakesby 11-20-2007 09:27 AM

id love to do it sunday but i get back from denver around 7pm

agcutie03 11-20-2007 07:17 PM

Ha, okay, okay, Sunday, December 2? Any road ideas/maps yet? Do I need to go on an adventure and find a few myself? :)

BigRed 11-20-2007 07:32 PM

Hehehe...lol. I would be down either sunday.
-BigRed

cshakesby 11-21-2007 12:48 AM

haha yea you might have to get on a little adventure. im out of town till sunday so i cant really look around. theres a little route that you can take from the mckinney area up to sherman that is back roads. or there is also a back road i believe thast you can take from mckinney to wylie and some place passed there

Uncivilizedracer 11-21-2007 10:25 AM

Red is not going to show LOL we have to have permission slip for his parents to sign, ill have a full tank of gas so im down someone call me and let me know whats up, i probably wont get on this thing till monday !

agcutie03 11-21-2007 11:47 AM

You know I'll call you to tell you what's up Brian, it doesn't sound like we'll be doing anything this week, though. Oh, and poor Red... ;)

I have. McKinney-Princeton-Lucas has some decent roads to tour that few seem to know about. Maybe this weekend I'll plot a few roads out if anyone is interested.

deadphoenix52 11-21-2007 09:24 PM

im up for another drive. sunday should be fine. either one

RPM666 11-24-2007 02:52 PM

I say we all take a 250 mile drive and see who can last the longest without filling up. At 74 miles I'm hitting the half full mark :/ Lucky to get 180 miles from 14.9 gallons. Why's somethin always gotta be up with MY 8??? My truck is getting better gas mileage...

There's something wrong with your 8. No matter how I drove I could still get 220 miles per tank (14 gallons). My Miata goes 260 miles on 9.5 gallons

Ha, it's my own personal issue! Uncivilized racer made it for me with pics from the Oklahoma City Fall BBQ...he did a good job, huh? Way to go Brian, everyone is convinced it's real! :) I love it!

agcutie03 11-26-2007 01:09 PM

Okay, so...did you McKinney guys go for a drive? Should we set something up for this Sunday around noon? Is everyone free?

Uncivilizedracer 11-26-2007 04:35 PM

Lol i got them skilz glad i could increase your popularity with the pic

Ha, you're tellin me. There's a guy here in ft worth that has had a rotary shop for 15+ years or so and drags his own custom made rotary engines - basically takes two of them and connects them in a straight line(so I've heard but not witnessed).

I'd like to take it over to him and let him keep it for awhile and see if there is anything he could do for not TOO much$$$. Otherwise I think I'll sell it the minute I'm not upside down in it. Thought about looking into putting an LT-1 in it but I think that'll kick me out of the rotary club;)

***And yes I did fall off the face of the earth for while. Finally got my little auto body parts company off the ground and have been having a blast trying to make this work on my own. I'll try to make it to the next meeting at BJs but as usual, couldn't show up until about 15 minutes till everyone leaves.

cshakesby 11-27-2007 12:51 AM

hey guys sorry i was out of town. i wasnt able to go for a drive yet to sort it out and im not available sunday. but that doesnt mean you guys cant go.

jenkins-crew 11-27-2007 02:35 PM

I am game if something gets planned....

ALTAG 11-27-2007 10:38 PM

I would definitely show up for a nice relaxing drive. Ive been waiting to go to my first 8 meet.

Creto 11-30-2007 09:07 AM

So what's the word? We driving or not this weekend?

agcutie03 11-30-2007 09:49 AM

I left Sunday open for it, but I have no idea where to even begin on finding a route...McKinney area is all I know.
