Got back from the Mazda sponsored test drive for the Mazdaspeed MX-5 and all I can say it is a vast improvement. The main reason for this post is that it was held at the Motorsports Ranch outside of Cresson. If you haven't been to this facility, its a really nice place. They rent it out to different groups that want to run their cars or bikes. It has an 11 turn, 1.7 mile roadcourse that is a blast to drive. There's lots of runoff area in the turns so you risk minimal damage to your cars, and there were several offs while we were running yesterday. With the clubs that have formed for the RX-8 in the Austin,Dallas,Houston and San Antonio areas could organize together, I'm sure you could get the individual costs down to make it reasonable.
