it hailed last night
 

I took a trip to austin from houston to visit them and show em the new car. as luck would have it, a huge thunderstorm swept over the area. we had taken one of my friends' car to go eat. while we were sitting in the restaurant, we could hear the thunder and lightning. then our waitress came over told us it was pouring hard and HAILING :eek: . needless to say, i got pretty freaked out; unfortunately, we were already eating so i had to sit through the agony of wondering whether my car was ok. once we got back, i ran over to check it, but it was too dark to be able to tell if there were any dents on the car. i checked just this morning however, and man am i relieved...my 8 is fine :o. either the hail was light, or it missed the vicinity of where my friend's apt was. man, i was alot less stressed over things like this when i was driving my junky civic.

We had pea size hail here yesterday - just bounced off the car with no damage. But I remember when I lived in Kansas, there was one storm that produced golf ball size hail. It went right up Metcalf Avenue in Johnson County and annihilated the car dealerships. $90 million in damages. They hauled all of the cars up to Arrowhead Stadium and auctioned them off for peanuts.

I stood on my back porch that eventful day and listened to the hail as it moved North up the road. Missed my house by 2 miles. It was an awesome sound! Had both my cars in the garage that day. :)
