JoeHawk 01-25-2009 09:00 PM

Y'all are welcome to use my garage & whatever tools I have that might be helpful. Willing to help with installs - but not bringing a wealth of install knowledge!

JTtheDude 01-26-2009 08:43 AM

within the next 2 weeks I am planning on getting plugs/coils/wires and will need help with that

thejew89 01-26-2009 09:43 AM

just let me know when i did mine and helped seatown with his

agcutie03 01-26-2009 10:57 AM

I think I can only second Rowlettrx8er's post-I always have an open garage and tools in Richardson, but past changing oil/trans/diff fluid or basic things like wiring footwells or Sirius radio, you may not want me to offer my "help." It's comical how badly I can mess things up. (Maybe not comical at the time, but usually in hindsight.)

I'm always down to wash/wax/detail an 8 in need, though. I have yet to screw that up!

KWarner04 01-26-2009 01:03 PM

I don't bring items 1, 2, or 3 to the table...but I can order pizza like no other!

I'd be more that willing to help any way I can, even it's just holding a light. There's no better way to learn than getting your hands dirty.

agcutie03 01-26-2009 01:21 PM

Lol, and I, of course, have the hand cleaners upon request. Yessss!!!

There is also no better way to learn than by messing it up the first time. I'm living proof. As are the following: footwell LED strip held together by a paperclip, free rolling bulb in headlight casing, sheared oil pan bolt sitting on my kitchen counter, broken Sirius receiver in my coat closet, and of course, my 8's theme song "Check Out my Lean"-dedicated during the three months that I was riding on three stock springs and one Racing Beat spring. Good times, good lessons...

seatownracer 01-26-2009 04:24 PM

So does anyone have anything they want to install?

Creto 01-27-2009 07:52 AM

I had some LEDs, but I managed that on my own ;)

Although, I did get to learn how to tear apart the door because when I went to put the light in the passenger door, the housing and the bulb fell into the door. Fun times.

well at least shes talking about the oil pan bolt now.... she didn't want to say a damn thing about it before and i guess thought if she didn't think about it i would just walk its self out to her car and join back up with the rest of his oil pan bolt buddies.

i can't offer you a place to work unless you are at the shop for something or if you want to drive a long ways out of town but i can offer you my specialty tools or any tool that you might not have for at least one weekend, but of course i'll need that back eventually to do my job. and i can offer you my knowledge of the car and all the resources that i have if we can't figure something out.

agcutie03 01-27-2009 08:35 AM

Aw Creto, it's okay. I still have splicers in my fuse box area under the steering wheel...or maybe I pushed them into the liner, I can't remember. It's all good. Character is what I call it.

And Brian, for the record, I never denied the bolt on my counter. I just still refuse to see if I have an oil spot in my garage. Ignorance is bliss. I mean, if I check and I know that I have a ridiculous leak, I'm still not going to fix it until I'm ready. Does me no good to know, only freaks me out. ;) See how that works?

"Are you crying?! This is why girls don't work on cars, there's no crying in mechanics!"

agcutie03 01-27-2009 08:37 AM

Oh, and nothing to install right now. But my fogs haven't worked since October, need to check that out. And apparently I need to fix my oil pan if anyone wants to help me get the stubborn bolts off. I won't hold my breath on that one.

GODFATHER 01-27-2009 08:48 AM

righty tighty lefty loosey ang

agcutie03 01-27-2009 09:24 AM

seatownracer 01-27-2009 11:45 AM

I need to put my stock cat back on so that I can pass my emissions test.....Hopefully that is something we can do...unless you guys know of another way I can pass my emissions test?? *wink**wink*

seatownracer 01-27-2009 11:47 AM

Also you guys are more then welcome to use my open garage as well, plus whatever tools.

Creto 01-28-2009 09:50 AM

steve, PM jenkins for his emissions shop. may be more worth your time.

jones75254 01-28-2009 02:06 PM

I have a small air compressor (4-5 cfm, 2hp) if anyone needs to use it. Great for using to cut off stripped bolts and other medium/minor cutting needs. Compressor has wheels and is portable enough (light enough for one person to lift) to be transported in truck bed or back of SUV hatch or similar.

if you don't have a CEL you should be able to pass, i did with my RP supercat

jones75254 01-28-2009 03:06 PM

^^Me too.

If there is no cell, you will pass. Now, if the shop you go to is old/shitty and they dont have the tech for CANBUS, they wont be able to simply hook into ur OBDII. They will likely throw ur car up on the rollers and do the old sniffer test, which you WILL NOT PASS, cat or no cat. Kwik Kar is where i go.

seatownracer 01-28-2009 04:05 PM

Cool........I have no cell light on so I will try to just take it to kwik kar and see what happens.....

987HYS 01-28-2009 05:24 PM

^^ +1 Kwik Kar is where get mine done too

GODFATHER 01-28-2009 08:39 PM
