Why does he have to text you? All the info is in the first post...

WTBRotary! 03-01-2011 02:33 AM

Because I was going to ask him some questions because I wanted his opinions. :)

Rip Van Wankel 03-01-2011 11:15 AM

Last time i was at Autocross at LSP, there was so much gravel, it was awful, and it also just happened to be the same day as some big important horse derby, and the event got kicked off the property (miscommunication between event staff and LSP staff). Hopefully this one will be less of a complete fail....hahahahaha

all of this assuming you have a working car? lol

you sure you should do this? you have yet to own a working car for more than 3 months i'd wager. and even tho our car is designed for this, its still freakin stressful on the car

just sayin man... lulz

Spoolin8 03-01-2011 02:18 PM

Brandon ill give you info tonight. Ill have my BHR coils in by then so my car will be in tip top shape which it should be to do an event such as this as you will destroy alot of rubber and beloved stop-tech brakes ;) Like i said if anyone thats new just wants to see how it is without putting your vehicle through hell your more then welcome to watch/ride mine through hell.

The gravel is not nearly as bad as mineral Wells but it does do some extra tire shredding and nothing a little tape cant help :)

Are you guys going to the NTAXS or SCCA one? I believe they are the same weekend

Spoolin8 03-02-2011 11:50 AM

NTAXS, Not as serious :)

DocBeech 03-03-2011 01:32 AM

SCCA event is on the fourth at Texas World Speedway which is at College Station.

Then on the 12th (The Same Day at the Same Place) the SCCA has its test and tune where you can play with different configurations for a couple of hours. The actual event is the next day on the 13th. I am trying to make this event if work will let me off.

On a side note if you don't want to destroy your car at Lone Star Park then you can go to Texas Motor Speedway for the SCCA Solo Events on May 14th and just run wide open.

Two autox at the same site the same day? Kind of surprising. Wonder if I can run both :evil_laug

WTBRotary! 03-04-2011 03:14 PM

How hard on a car can this be? I mean I have all of these mods and im doing nothing with them... So I might as well get them some use...

Spoolin8 03-04-2011 03:49 PM

honestly i beat the shit out of my car on a daily basis so this is nothing new to me haha

DocBeech 03-04-2011 08:36 PM

It depends on how hard you drive the car. I have seen people blow engines, blow transmissions, rip out differentials, break struts, crash vehicles.

It just depends on how hard you want to push yourself and the car.

And whether you're running synthetic oil or not!!! :rollingla

Spoolin8 03-08-2011 08:57 PM

Just finished registering. As of now we have a total of two 8's (3 if brandon is still coming)

Rip Van Wankel 03-09-2011 10:27 AM

Upon further inspection and tuning of my 8 there's still a little bit more work I need to do before she's ready for her next AutoX. I'll come for a couple hours for moral support and designated photographer, but won't participate this weekend.

You can give me advice, Because as many times as ive been i never do too well. But it is way to much fun to pass up lol

WTBRotary! 03-10-2011 10:51 AM

Yeah I hope I can make this one. Should be getting my car back from Mazda today or tomorrow. Then it's immediately time for an oil change and tranny fluid change. Then I should be good :)

Are you skilled at draining and replacing the fluids in tranny's? Not sure that's something I'd admit in public dude...

I don't know man, that'd be like the blind leading the blind...hahaha. I''ve only been to three events before. 1st one was lulz. 2nd one I got my shit together but it wasn't till my third one I felt I knew what I was supposed to do (just a matter of actually doing it) and actually began to concentrate on stuff instead of just wreaking havoc on the track, and set little goals for myself.

But yeah, If I participated, I'm certain my brakes would catch fire. I was already pretty low on my pads, then yesterday it was like an obstacle course getting home, avoiding 4 near certain collisions with complete retards on the road who don't know how to drive. My last maneuver landed me a ticket for "exhibition of acceleration" because I boomeranged around some woman who decided to stop half way through her left turn, instead of slamming on my brakes which I had burned too much of in an earlier incident. It was a hell of a day.
