Gotta finish making the custom grille for the front bumper... got 1 of 3 pieces in. Custom-cutting and mounting material I ordered from The Grille Guy - looks pretty good so far. I don't need a rock hitting anything vital back there and have something crazy happen... like losing my A/C during the state meet!

Got white LEDs in the parking lights on corners last night... those parking lights are pretty easy - I don't see what the big fuss was all about for the passenger side. It's a tight squeeze, but after like three 10mm bolts, you're in there.

Linky to what you ordered?

Also, I'm not exactly sure what you are making, but you can protect the grill all you want and the condenser is still going to be unprotected unless you fashion something for the space between the under tray and the grill.

Check it - www.grilleguy.com... I think I got the link suggestion from our heavenly father, Lord ET
I didn't get the reflective aluminum stuff you see, click the "upgrade material" link in the bottom left... I got the black powder-coated "RAZR" material.

So what are you saying about protecting the radiator? The grill installed should be enough as far as I can see ... I don't see any way of rocks getting in there now with the grille and the stock plastic on the underside.

Based on that picture, no. However, RX8 bumpers are different. If you notice where the front bumper connects to the under tray, there is a space between that piece and the grill. In the center of the bumper there is V that connects it to the rest of the bumper. That space allows a huge air gap between there and the condenser. I'm saying that if you don't protect that space as well that your custom grill is not sufficient to protect your AC. Course if you have a custom bumper different from the stock one without this problem then never mind ::)

OH! I see what you're talkin' about!
Yeah, I guess it didn't occur to me since I've got the front end from Shine Auto Group.
Well, did ya get your car back like the shop said?

Yup, and I am totally screwed. Clutch is night and day difference I'm gonna look like a retard driving that thing.

seatownracer 04-28-2010 02:22 PM

You already look like a retard... :wavey:

Creto 04-28-2010 04:21 PM

So you'll look like Brandon, except you'll be able to start your car.

WTBRotary! 04-28-2010 05:51 PM

sigh...

lol at anyrate why does your clutch feel different Thomas?

Lord ET 04-28-2010 05:53 PM

because his old one was super worn, and probably released less abruptly and soner than his new one.

On another note, how was the meet?

Basically what Lord ET said. The old one was worn, it felt, for lack of a better term, spongey. And I liked it that way. It felt like there was pressure on the pedal when I pushed it in and the engage point was wider. Now I slightly put my foot on the thing and it goes straight to the floor. There is no pressure on it at all. Its like I kicked a feather. Then the engage point is not only narrower, but its feels like a huge lump. I know it sounds stupid but thats the best way I can describe it.

Pretty tame. Waitresses were kinda lame this time, none of them stayed to chat like the last one we had. She was so frickin awesome. Brandon, as usual, got razzed alot for being a kid and poor driver, there were remarks that I should take a shower at the meet this year and a bit of discussions about last years meet and the over route we would be using on Sat. Other than that not much else. Oh yeah and there was lots of talk about Joes wreck.

Then you need to update your sig pic, cuse it still has the stock bumper in it!

Creto 04-28-2010 06:58 PM

Oh, and the waitress smelled like stripper.

WTBRotary! 04-28-2010 09:21 PM

Bad driver my ass...

Ah good point, you'd have to have the car started before your driving could be critiqued.

Lord ET 04-28-2010 11:08 PM

was there a verdict reached on you taking a shower this year?

Riley Craven 04-29-2010 09:14 AM

Yeah, everyone agreed that I should....

Lord ET 04-29-2010 09:53 AM

+1.

Creto 04-29-2010 10:21 AM

I voted for at least 2 :dunno:

Riley Craven 04-29-2010 10:29 AM

I hate showering anywhere but my house. I actually go to the gym work out, come home and then shower.

Creto 04-29-2010 12:35 PM

I couldn't blame you the first year... the bathrooms at The Witten Inn were freggin scary (at least, ours was). But last year, the place was nice and clean.

WTBRotary! 04-29-2010 01:12 PM

sigh enough with the having to start the car crap lol... We will see where I'm at Thomas at this met... Right on your ass or pulling away Thomas
