[Houston] Wanted Co-Pilot / Mini-Scenic Drive 7/2/04

This coming Friday I am going to be off work and taking the early half of the day to explore some great twisties the Miata guys told me about just North of Houston.

I will be mapping the route that the club will be taking in a couple of weeks this day as well. I am inviting anyone who is willing to either tag-along in their own car or ride with me in the vert'. (obviously I only need one rider)

The weather reports are looking pretty good and this should be a great day to skip work and go for a drive. I will be getting a early start and will probably be in the Northside area by 8AM or earlier.

The co-pilot will need to take some notes, but I will buy your breakfast at our first stop. :D

If your interested email me directly at htxrx7@houston.rr.com or PM me here on the forum.

See you then!

Where in houston are you Meeting, driving, & how far will you be going. I will follow you; also have nav. If the weather will cooperate I will be able to give my car a good wash (it needs it).

I think I am going to be out near 290 and Hwy 6 about 8 AM (or earlier, but I am flexible)

DrKillJoY 07-01-2004 03:15 PM

oh... I live in Bellaire/Meyerland area

rotarygod 07-01-2004 06:23 PM

290 and hwy 6. Where are there any good roads out there? I know of a couple up near Waller out there but all of the good ones that I know of are up near Lake Conroe off of I-45. There are some damn fun twisty, hilly roads out there.

DrKillJoY 07-01-2004 10:08 PM

im gonna actually head up towards Navasota... i can't give out all my details.. or else noone will come along for the drive.. :)

houstonrx8er 07-01-2004 10:53 PM

Well how many miles do you plan to drive? And I agree there are great roads near i-45 and new waverly out west.

DrKillJoY 07-01-2004 11:04 PM

yeah..

i love the FM 147 thru 150 roads myself in and out of the forest. The nthe backroads to Anderson are nice too...(heading towards Navasota)

I will probably drive about 100-140 miles or so (or until about noon whichever comes first) I intend to checkout a couple of the lcoal eateries and ensure they can handle 15-30 rotorheads :) and make sure there are gas-up places out along the way in case we need them.

DrKillJoY 07-01-2004 11:38 PM

no go there.. sorry..my saturday is filled with crawfish, barbques and pool parties.. hehehe however... the club will be going for a saturday (or maybe sunday drive in a couple of weeks... this run is mainly for scouting purposes... I just hate to do it all by myself... :)

If your interested in riding along tomorrow feel free to PM me your tel number and Ill call you about 7:15-7:30..... I am still waiting to hear back from houstonrx8er too :)

brillo 07-01-2004 11:40 PM

DrKillJoY 07-01-2004 11:43 PM
