Unfortunately we had found out by use that on one of our last production runs, we had some lower rear mount bushings that were not molded to our standards. This caused premature wear and cracking of the bushings.

This bushing defect has already been addressed and the correct durometer/quality of the bushings will be in place on all incoming coilovers for this group buy and all future production runs.

Further, we will be replacing any and all past customers that do have these defective bushings and have already proactively sent notice to our previous customers to check so we can replace them accordingly.

Thanks.

Awesome! It's refreshing when companies do the right thing.

where are these coilovers made?
what brand and quality would you compare this to? Tein Flex? Koni with Tein springs? or stance coilovers? or would you say it's closed to KW quality and feels? just trying see what to expect on damping and overall feel. thanks.

Comparing the quality of the coilovers to the mentioned is subjective and I will only offer based on experience and customer feedback.

Longevity wise, we have had customers on Powertrix coilovers for over 11 years with everything from daily driving to full on road coarse racing and still going strong. 50% of those companies mensioned have not even offered suspension set ups (coilovers)for as long as we have so there would not be enough data to compare.

For the most part most of our customers that have switched from a spring and shock set up to the Powertrix coilovers state that the ride quality is firm but less bouncy and "pogo-like" and had much more control.

Those that have switched from the Tein Flex stated that the ride quality is absolutely better on the Powertrix Coilovers and that our coilovers have a lot more use-able adjustments on damper settings meaning that they felt more differences in the individual settings on our coilovers whereas the Teins felt like they had to click 3-4-5 settings before anything was noticeable. (This can be verified by a shock dyno that show actual Force (Lbs) vs Velocity (in/sec) of the damper/shock piston.

We have replaced a couple of sets of KW V3s on Nissan 370zs due to the ride quality being too unbearable and the customers stated immediately that the ride quality is a night and day difference better on the Powertrix Coilovers. I personally believe the KW V3 product is a quality set up however, the way it is designed without independent ride height adjustment is the main reason why they do not ride very well on the street. On the KW V3 system, the only way to adjust ride height is to move (raise or lower) the spring in the assembly. This varies the pre-load of the spring. In most cases, one of the main reasons for wanting coilovers is to go with a lower ride height and on this design, lowering the spring in the coilover assembly also decreases the amount of usable compression stroke equating to bottoming out sooner. (this is what causes the rough and bouncy ride)

For the most part, specifically for the SE3P (RX8) most of those on our customers state the ride quality is excellent with the comfort very close to stock on the 9k/6k set up (and softest damper setting) We do offer 10k/7k and 11k/8k setups which are a stiffer more aggressive set up as we can customize to what your preference may be. However with the damper adjust-ability, it also has the performance levels that are more than adequate to handle track duty.

Performance-wise, we are happy to compare our dampers/shocks vs. the likes and quality of OHLINs dampers/shocks. (See below shock dyno comparison)

In viewing the below shock dyno, you will notice the similarities of the curves however what stands out the most is how our dampers have a larger range of adjustments allowing more stiffer performance oriented settings than the other damper. This shock dyno was performed by a third party non-biased tester.

These coil overs are the best thing i have ever seen or tried. I have the 10k/7k set up. For street i run about 5 clicks all the way around. No bounce, stiffer then stock but not knock your brain out stiff by ANY means! I happened to have bought a set that had a bad batch of bushings, so i called charles and he shipped me a set of new ones free of charge and i got them next day. Great customer service! I auto cross and track my car at a minimum of once a month. These coil overs took off over 8 seconds on my lap time at laguna time and time again. I also have a few friends that run these with the other springs and they love them. For the price you cant go wrong!

As far as brand comparison there really isn't any because if you pick a brand that actually matches the same quality, and rates that these are the price is outrageous. But not only that you also have a lot more adjust ability from height and rebound and so on.

My set of coilovers has over 30k and still riding like the first day i put them in. Mind you i drive my 8 over 100mi a day. mostly street driving, hell my wife loves em!
