months problem.

I have only heard good things about them here and on RX7club.com. But that doesn't mean they didn't screw you over.

But since you are somewhat local then just file a claim in small claims court. But you might want to have someone else prepare the paperwork because your grammar is horrendous. It makes it difficult to understand what exactly happened and what you are trying to say.

HumSound 12-12-2013 07:40 PM

Good luck, hope you will get money back, or at least a part of it. It is not easy to find professionnals in today's life.

moehler 12-27-2013 03:57 PM

I've had Jim work on my RX7s for over 10 years (including two engine rebuilds). He's been great to say the least, and I've never had a single issue with his workmanship, speed, or honesty.

I'm not trying to get involved with your issues since I have no idea what happened, but readers of this thread should know that JPR has been a great shop to tons of rotary owners.

TeamRX8 12-28-2013 06:15 PM

Maybe you needed to spend $10k for it to be right :dunno: without specifics it's hard to be sure what the real issue is ...

Baconrx7 02-07-2014 07:35 PM

The car ran just like this when Jim dropped it off to you at englishtown raceway. I was there, you used my tools to change your Braille battery.
The car drove preset good down the track that day, I mean you spun 1st second and I think third hitting the limiter each time, and you drove it out for a few blasts later that day.

I'll have to see if I have video of your pass, your ran like a 12 right?
Sorry to hear you broke your toy

slimjim 02-07-2014 08:42 PM

Hey guys and redrx8rotary,I just was told about this thread and wanted to set a few things straight.Mr redrx8rotary engine setup was a USED SETUP out of another forum members car,It was built by a previously famous shop in Florida that was known for building turbo systems and one of the first ecu solutions for rx8s before it went out of business. The motor was opened at the PREVIOUS owners request to half bridge and install superseals and nothing else considering it had less than a few thousand on it from the previous shop.Mrredrx8rotary bought this setup and had us install it and tune after the original owner decided for us to do a 20b instead. The video(S) posted above by Mr Baconrx7 is how the car left the shop making about 400 at the wheels@14psi.The car came back to the shop 2 or 3 weeks later with a secondary injector(USED) stuck open and the oil pan crushed with a demanding owner behind stating how i did something wrong..The pan and injector was replaced and the owner insisted that I drive the car to Englishtown because he was tired of driving to me.At this point I told him that the car was starting to overboost a bit because of cooler weather and recommended not to make any passes till wastegate spring was verified

9krpmrx8 02-07-2014 08:45 PM

Wait, this is an REW swap?

GK1707 02-07-2014 08:55 PM

Yes it is. And his actual pass at Fall Nationals, Englishtown was 10.1 seconds IIRC.

slimjim 02-07-2014 08:59 PM

That recommendation was ignored and mr redrx8rotary insisted on making passes with the car over boosting.I have witnesses regarding this matter As far as his claim of contact,he had my cellphone number and called or texted moring noon and night, have over 220 texts to prove that.

slimjim 02-07-2014 09:03 PM

Yes REW motor and trans

RotaryResurrection 02-08-2014 02:06 AM

Wow, it seems like ownership has just been served on a silver platter. Who should we believe...a long time shop owner with witnesses and video vs a random dude who can't type legible english?

RIWWP 02-08-2014 07:12 AM

Pretty much. I know who I believe.

Baconrx7 02-08-2014 11:13 AM

The sadest part is the car is amazing, rew swap, with a great port job, 400ish at the wheels with a fd trans (custom shifter linkage to make it work) fully streetable, great driver.
At 1 bar where it was tuned a absolute dream, but as any good tuner adds fuel for overboosting, well after the tune the cooler air was making it out run the single 38mm gate (etown was fall nationals when final delivery took place) I personally called 8 vendors and 5 friends looking for a 10 psi spring for the 38, if it was ANY and I do mean ANY other waste gate we would have sourced one, but couldn’t in this last minute situation. He was advised over and over that its creeping and the car is mapped to protect the motor and he HAS to change the Spring to avoid creeping past the gate(customer HAD HAD HAD to take delivery that day) The car DROVE to etown for delivery, Made a few blasts on the street, Made a ballsout hit the limiter, beat the crap out of it pass (pretty sure one or more of us have it on video) and drove home. Now lawsuits, because you broke your toy because you didn’t want to take the advise of everyone and your buddy who came with you that day. Truly a shame, and now adding lie’s that the motor wasn’t proper, is a scumbagish thing to do to try to add accreditation to your cause. The truth will come out, the video’s and first hand testimony of those there and who saw every thing that day will come out in court. Once again sorry you broke your toy
For everyone who doesn’t know I’ve known Jim since 1997, back when I got my FD, so 16-7years of his services, I’ve seen many forum members cars come through, he also Builds my 844 RWHP world record motors, and has done incredible things in the rotary community.

GK1707 02-08-2014 05:43 PM

Seen this car in person quite a few times and know the owner. It really is an immaculate build, work looks amazing. Its a shame what happened, I never knew the full story on what happened until now, but def doesn't sound good.

:worship: A lot of retards around this forum.

Gravey 02-12-2014 07:44 AM

^... Or maybe just a few bad apples...

It sucks when a shop takes advantage of a customer, but I absolutely hate it when people try to smear the name of a business that hasn't actually done anything wrong to try and get compensation for something they themselves broke.

That's someone's livelihood you are trying to destroy, their good name and respect in the community. Over something you abused/neglected and ultimately broke. That's pretty despicable.

yomomspimp06 02-15-2014 06:46 PM

ummm I follow[ed] you on instagram and unless you were showing a "doctored" time slip it was for sure a 10sec slip...instagram profile is no longer available btw

That is a internisting one since the 86-95 bearings are interchangeable, which bearings were wrong?

So you are trying to say you drove the car for 3 weeks, hit something crushed the oil pan, then drove it down the track, and beat it on the streets multiple times? Lmao that's a super bearing! Gonna enjoy putting my suit on and giving testomony

gwilliams6 02-16-2014 09:38 AM

hey redrx8rotary, you will get no sympathy here for not following good advice, abusing the car and then blaming a reputable rotary mechanic. I would be happy to testify on behalf of a great rotary guy slimjim of JPRimports. The last thing anyone in this club wants is to have an idiot like you with your frivolous lawsuit ruin the livelihood of one of the few good Mazda rotary wrenches left on the east coast.

SayNoToPistons 02-19-2014 02:02 AM

This is why we can't have the good vendors and shops on these forums....

gwilliams6 02-20-2014 07:33 AM

Hey redx8rotary I am not getting it a "he said she said" with you. No one who wasn't there knows exactly what happened. Just know the JPR has been a honest valued and trusted Rotary wrench for many many RX8 owners and club members. So who do we believe here, take a guess. Talked with my bro who is a Yale Law School Grad. He says your type of case will be difficult or near impossible to win in NJ or NY, so go ahead and waste your time and money on your legal pursuit. No amount of your raving on this forum will get folks here to believe that JPR "f*****" you. End of Story !!!

Karack 02-20-2014 12:54 PM

i wasn't aware any business was required to register with the BBB.. you'd probably get equal information from this site or on yelp without the BS of the BBB.

ShellDude 02-21-2014 09:01 PM

ActuallY there have been a handful of negative jpr posts over the years and I've heard a couple horror stories firsthand.

The same can be said of many shops though. Even KDR has had their share of fuck ups.

The important piece is the reports tend to be isolated (yet accurate) and far from Scott territory.

redrx8rotary 03-12-2014 08:40 PM

how do i delete this shit any one know ?
