The Corroded Battery Terminal Saga and Why You Should Buy from MazMart

2 Attachment(s)
Basically, my battery randomly started to foam acid one day until it had completely corroded my positive battery terminal. Then, because the dealership saw that I had a power cable from my amp to the battery, they would not cover the part. They told me that my only option was to pay 2900 dollars for a whole new wiring harness, because they couldnt simply order just the connector.

After posting desperately for help, I recieved a few quick responses and a few offers to buy the connector from other forum members. Though I thank you all for your timely replies, none of the offers came close to MazMart's offer.

After I posted in the MazMart thread and described my problem, I was immediately told to call their office because they had a "great deal" for me.

After just a minute talking to Paul, he started to ask me for all my shipping info. Half way through giving him my address, I paused and was like "wait, before I give you all my info, can I get a price for the part? I already have some decent offers from other forum members..."

To my surprise, Paul responded "how about zero dollars and zero cents." I couldn't believe that he was going to send it to me for free, when the going price for the connector is about forty bucks. I tried to offer him some compensation, at least for shipping, but he just refused it all.

Shortly after, I recieved the part and swapped it for my current connector which was at the last few days of its life. Overall, I spent about a hundred dollars on a new battery, much less than the 2900 requested from the dealership for a whole new wiring harness.

So, EVERYONE BUY FROM MAZMART! Paul is a really good guy, and I can't praise him enough for his help.

well technically you didn't 'buy' from him, since it cost you $0 ;)

Great vendor. Atrocious dealer. Seems to be the norm for Mazda and many, many other manufacturers.

Same thing happened to me.

When my rear member brace (under the car, last one) broke (special thanks to great new york city roads), he gave me one for free.

When it happened again (god damn NYC, where did my tax $$$$$ go ?), he tried to give me another one, but I paid for it this time, a really low price.

Paul is a really nice dude.

well crap, I'm fixing to get my engine replaced, think Paul might slip me a nicely trimmed out ported 13b? :D: Pretty certain once my new engine gets put in, I'll be hitting him up for the cooling mod. :)

I think you are thinking of Mazsport for the cooling mod. ;)

Pricing to come.

I thought he was referring to the Mazsport cooling mod.

I am outta the loop on that one  that is what working and school both full time will do to a person. :dunno:

Great to hear though. I will most likely kick up for that one Paul.

He also has final gear changes available. :D:
