Big O's put the wrong tires on my car
Big O's put the wrong tires on my car
So, took my car to Big O's to get some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S installed... They installed Michelin's all seasons instead. They're going to fix it tomorrow.
However, I also had them install some Eibach Lowering Springs that I've had sitting in my garage waiting for me to install for over a year. Figure I needed tires, might has well have them install the springs. However, when I asked about pre-loading, they said they had no idea what I was talking about. I forwarded them a link to a thread here along with some instructions to Racing Beat's spring install, which says to preload.
Does anyone have a link to something from Eibach with the instruction to preload? And is this just an RX-8 thing, preloading? Or did I take my car to the wrong shop?

You don't preload lowering springs. Coilovers yes, but not springs. They do need to do final tightening with weight on wheels though, thaty Miata/RX8 specific and is in Racing Beats instructions.
Sucks to hear Capt. One time I went to Big-O to replace set of tires and they proceeded to replace all 4. I was like 'what's going on here??? I'm here for 2 tires' Glad to hear it's all settled now. Always good to keep an eye on the shop I suppose.
