Indiana-based tuners Lingenfelter Performance Engineering have set their sights on the 2010 Chevy Camaro. The 30+ year old company has been known to mod out GM vehicles, including a Pontiac Firebird they turned into a Salt Flat racer.

Although that car was totaled after going airborne at over 200 mph, their Camaro is ready to be put through the paces. They offer five different engine trims, beginning with a "base" level 550 horsepower, 550 ft-lb torque supercharged monster. Other versions include a 570 hp / 570 ft-lb, and a 650 hp / 600 ft-lb variant. Step up to either the 750 horsepower, 685 ft-lb model, or the massive 800 hp with 800 ft-lb unit, and you get the benefit of a Chevy LS7 7.0-liter aluminum block engine. All models come with the TVS2300 intercooled supercharger, except the big boy.

The 800 hp unit uses twin liquid cooled true ball bearing turbochargers that are oil lubricated.

The list of engine modifications is rather impressive, and worth a read by opening up the press release below. It is not just the performance that gets a makeover. Lingenfelter also has their own body kit for the Camaro. This includes a new front splitter, front fascia with rocker extension, and hood with built-in air extractors. At the back you'll notice the rear fascia rebuild, new exhaust, rear lip spoiler, and new tail lamps.

Pricing was not listed for the 2010 Lingenfelter Camaro.

The rear lip spoiler really hurts the appearance. The lip needs to be more subtle to clean up the lines.

The body kit looks awful, i never liked any sort of body kits on american muscle. Leave the exterior nearly stock with maybe a hit here or there.

i think its going for about 70k stock off the floor.

Yea i think muscle needs to remain muscle. Too often they try to put an import twist on these things and they go overboard, like some modded Stangs i have seen w/ ridiculous kits/wings on them. I DO like SOME trim accessories and aggressive stances on em though. I DONT like seeing popular import/VIP type wheels on muscle cars at all. Thats one area i like being old school.

For me, an aggressive hood scoop (due to the impending blower underneath:)), custom exhaust and freaky huge wheel/tire combo on the rear would do the trick.

Kind of impressive at first, but it's a little much. Not really flowin if you know what I mean. I think it's the kind of design that we will look back on 5 years from now and kinda go....:confused:

You know what. I'm totally cool with never getting anywhere near their Camaro. It will probably explode when started. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of cars that can do 200 without learning how to fly.

Exactly Jones, it's two completely different genres. What looks good on an import doesn't flow on domestic muscle. You must "dress accordingly."

hmmmm - i remember rotr8 proposing that color scheme (ss w/grey wheels and orange lip) - it's really starting to grow on me...
