Who the heck would buy this???

I would be very interested if someone could explain a reason to buy one of these things......

hotpot 09-13-2004 12:56 PM

Well it can carry a load of 6 tons. So if you're a gold digger or something...

Meowloud 09-13-2004 12:58 PM

STOP THE INSANITY!!!

smrx8 09-13-2004 12:59 PM

wow the price kills me

phee 09-13-2004 01:04 PM

I agree with Meowloud. I didn't think anyone could.......or would want to........top a Hummer. Plus the thing is freakin' ugly!

shelleys_man_06 09-13-2004 01:05 PM

It's made by International, right? I haven't seen those guys come out with a commercial truck in a long time.

I personally don't see this truck as a rig. If anything, you'll see it on the Funkmaster Flex Show.

I want a real big-rig diesel. :p

mysql101 09-13-2004 01:07 PM

thats cool. I would never buy one, but I want to see it with 39" spinners and a woot-woot whistler in the exhaust.

devoid 09-13-2004 02:03 PM

Compensating for something?

TownDrunk 09-13-2004 02:18 PM

Classic. It reminds me of the commercial where you see people driving back hoes, and bulldozers down the street.

On a side note, the parents of a friend of mine have something similar (though a bit smaller from what I remember) that they use to pull their monster 5th wheel trailer.

magixpuma 09-13-2004 02:24 PM

i want a volvo big rig my neighbor has 1 and when im by him in a car i make the hand signal to blow the horn its so much fun.... im such a adolesent

kdlunde 09-13-2004 03:18 PM

OMG! What a butt-ugly vehicle!

To quote part of the article:
"We can see it a as a vehicle for business people who want to make distinct impression. For personal use, it's for people who want to make a statement."
endquote

Yeah, they want to make a statement like "I'm a freakin' idiot with way too much money and way too little brains!"

On the bright side, a truck like that would make the MPG discussions in this forum laughable by comparison!

mysql101 09-13-2004 03:30 PM

they claimed it got 6+ mpg. Given how much bigger it is than the H2, you can thus think of this as an enviromentally friendly version of the H2.

... well, maybe not. But given that only 50 per year will be made, I expect some sport stars to buy it up as the next Hummer.

misterwilson007 09-13-2004 03:42 PM

Funny that you posted this as I'm considering replacing my house w/ one of those trucks......doesn't it come with a kitchen and a couple of bedrooms???? Let me know..................I'm in the process of packing now!!

canaryrx8 09-13-2004 04:55 PM

that is the ultimate mobile home, as Kostanza would say "Serenity now!!" I was actually thinking that nobody would be foolish enough to make something bigger than an H2 or Explursion, I know our cars aren't the most practical vehicles out there, but now we have this?! yeeesh 6 mpg?! 6 ton capacity?! I don't know if I'll ever own 6 tons of anything at one time :)

jonnyb 09-13-2004 05:37 PM

ill buy one and put armor plating on it then do whatever i want. nobody could stop me if i had one of those.

trash259 09-13-2004 07:16 PM

Who the heck would buy this???

Hill-folks otherwise known as RedNecks. :D

jonnyb 09-13-2004 07:57 PM

dont forget about the soccer moms.

EyeBall Fixer...(o)(x) 09-13-2004 09:01 PM

Probably 5th wheel RV'rs will buy a few of these.
Most of their rig run $500K ( give or take a nickle :D )!

truemagellen 09-13-2004 09:36 PM

I'd buy it and play construction man...then the airbrakes would go out as my wife takes our kids to soccer practice and wipe out their elementary school

g-damn people have small dicks

m477 09-13-2004 10:28 PM

That's awesome. If I were super rich I would buy one to take revenge on all the douchebags in Expeditions who nearly kill me when they drift into my lane and shit. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they have to swerve and slam on the brakes to avoid me and end up with their latte all over their laps! bwahaha

B-Nez 09-13-2004 10:50 PM

I'm sure they'll have no problem finding 50 fat, rich Americans who need something...just a bit more...

Uh, last I checked, 5th wheels typically run around 50k or less. Top of the line 5th wheels can run you around 100k but they are very rare.

Most class-A RV's you see on the road run in the 90-130k range new. With the upper end in the 200k - 1 million dollar range.

If you want the bentley of RV's, look up Prevost.

magixpuma 09-14-2004 12:49 PM

man i would buy this in a heart beat if i had the money to spare. i would tow the garages of ppl i didnt like rip it right out of there foundation.

JimW 09-14-2004 03:55 PM

I wanna get me one of those with some 30'' chrome spinners, while also tailgaiting RX8 drivers.
