also are there posts on the front i wanna ttake it off on the front bumper

The Efini emblem is much smaller and will not cover the holes left from the stock (huge :( ) Mazda emblem.

RXhusker 03-31-2004 09:26 PM

P.S. -- I have the Efini emblems -- haven't put them on -- yet anyway. I have always thought the Efini emblems would be perfect for the 8 -- after all Efini is a take-off of the word Infinity and the emblem is a stylized infinity symbol (sideways 8) :D

No offense, but most of the 7 owners who badge their 7's with the efini emblem do it because for at least some of the model run in Japan 7's were badged efini (at least that is the reason I use). Of course most of us probably rebadge for the same reason you want to, the Efini emblem looks really f'ng cool.
If you decide to go for it, Rx7.com has them. I think you have to call. BTW they have all silver emblems, black and silver, red and silver, and I think white and silver.
I personally would rather do a complete debadging of the 8 and go with the stealth look.

Well here is the deal... I would like to take off all the emblems and just have the efini emblem BUT of course there HAS to be posts so i cant do that.

So here is the plan
1) find out if the efini emblem would cover the holes of the flying M in the rear
if it does replace with emblem
2) find out if i was to move the rx8 emblem to the left will it cover the holes of the mazda emblem
if so move the RX8
3) paint all stock emblems the color of the car so it looks a lil cleaner/stealth but the emblems are still there.

1) No -- won't cover holes

2) Yes if positioned properly

3) That could look cool

By the way, anyone knows the story behind the Efini symbol ? was it a Special Edition model in Japan ?

All I know is that the official name for the Turbo FC is something like Mazda RX-7 Infinity Turbo-II. So does the symbol came from this line or something ?

Smoker 04-01-2004 10:13 AM

double posted

Would swaping badges like that be rice? Just a question....

Astor 04-01-2004 03:38 PM

Efini was the Japanese division of Mazda that made several of their autos including the FC & FD, as opposed to Mazda, I believe the vehicles with this badge were only sold in Japan and was stopped with the 3rd Gen 7(FD), most of this is what I remember reading, don't quote me as an authority.

Smoker 04-01-2004 04:01 PM

Interesting ! I never knew the FC and the FD would sold as a seperate line over in Japan. Anyone got more information on this ?
Thanks !

First Infini model was the 1987 323. It was the top of the line, performance wise, 323. Infini became the name for Mazda skunk works vehicles. They were tuned existing models, but were badged simply as Infini plus a number. The 1991 RX-7 they did was called the Infini IV because it was the forth Infini model made. I believe Inifini was simply the precursor to Mazdaspeed.

Does the Efini Emblem require hole-drilling or bumper-removal for installation on an MS face? What kind of glue should I use if it doesn't come with adhesive or double-sided tape? Thanks.
