What's the cost of A/C Repair?

Anyone would know what the price range would be for A/C Repair for a late model 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage? I have no clue and would like some input before I get my wallet gouged... if it cost more than the value of the car, then I'll just buy a new car for my g/f.

No way man its not that bad. It all depends on where you go for the repairs and whats wrong with the A/C unit.
