That's correct. But only if they are inciting violence, and then they should 100% be arrested.
They cannot be arrested for stating an unpopular opinion that does not incite violence.
The courts and Constitution are crystal clear on this.
Many people, apparently including you, don't understand how important that is to a Free society. Fortunately, many more people do.

Even the ACLU has defended literal Illinois ***** (while holding their noses). See these:

Just like you can't yell "FIRE!" in a crowded movie house, there are Hate Crime laws now to prosecute people who ferment political or religious hatred against groups of people.
You certainly can, you just have to be responsible for the consequences, as UnknownJinX says. If the theater is on fire you're going to be on the evening news as a hero. If it's not and people get hurt, you're going to jail, as you should.

BTW, the "shouting fire in a theater" thing is often abused to justify censorship by people who don't understand the history or context.
Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes coined the term while justifying the arrest and incarceration for 30 years of an American who was peacefully speaking against violence! Specifically, a man was distributing flyers opposing the draft. It was a bad decision that was later overturned. Holmes regretted it.

Learn a little history: https://www.popehat.com/2012/09/19/t...hip-are-enough and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shouti...rowded_theater
Read the flyer here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schenck_v._United_States

This isn't really the right place to discuss this, so I'll stop here. We can continue in the Lounge or by PM if you'd like.

That's fine, I'm done after this.
I'm aware of everything you said as rights in America.

I'm a big fan of history also.
At one time Americans had the right to buy and sell people.

I know what happened many years before Hitler invaded Poland in 1939.
Laying the groundwork for fascism didn't happen overnight.
There were plenty of warning signs.

Societies evolve.
If our society fails to remember the warning signs of the past, it could happen here.
People think that's an exaggeration, it's not.
It happens in slow motion.

To return to the example of the truck, it's my opinion that people who advertise their support for genocide should face legal consequences.
In addition, their computers and phones should be seized and examined for any warning signs of instability or calls to violence.
No one will change my mind.

I can understand what you're saying, BC. That said, I like being able to easily identify people whom I should avoid (like ***** or people that open carry long guns).

In Germany, anything relating to Naziism is illegal but it doesn't stop those sentiments and movements from happening. The neo-***** just use secret codes.
