What Mazdas have you owned?
I was thinking the other day, as I bought my 2010 Mazda 3 sport... How many Mazdas have I owned? My first Mazda was a 1993 323, then I got a 1993 MX-3 GS, then a 1994 323, then a 1996 MX-3 GS, then a 2002 special edition MX-5, then a 2007 RX-8 GT, and finally a 2010 Mazda 3 sport. I presently own the 2007 Mazda RX-8 GT and the 2010 Mazda 3 Sport. What Mazdas do you/have you owned?

1986 Mazda B2000 (power nothing)
1999 Mazda 626 - 4 cylinder. Loved it, transmission was terrible though. 2005 Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring (still own) almost bought a CX-7 a few years ago but went to the dark side and got a Bimmer instead. |
CRAZ8 - I've got a very similar Mazda vehicle history!
1990 Mazda 323 hatchback 1992 Mazda MX-3 GS (with KLZE engine swap) 2005 Mazda RX-8 |
My first car was a 1999 B3000 Troy Lee Edition, sold it and got the RX-8.

this will be fun :D:
Mazdas: 1972 R100. 1979 Rx7, early build, low mile all original car, one of the best i've had. 2x 1980 Rx7, one was a widebody with a targa, and the other was my first project car, big mess 1981 Rx7, bought it for some parts, gave it to my friend for his birthday 1982 Rx7, ex Pro7 car, currently has a 12A P port in it, very fun. 1983 Rx7 Limited edition. i liked this one, i DD'd it for 3-4 years. ?x 1984 Rx7's, several 12A and GSL-SE's 5?x 1985 Rx7 GSL-SE's, these are very good cars. 1986 Rx7, my first Rx7, super base, gold. 1987 Rx7, gxl 1988 Rx7, turbo, i had a 20B in it for a while 1989 Rx7 vert, the best way to do FC. 1989 B220 truck, this was a great little truck, should have kept it 1990 Rx7 coupe, paid $2 for it, had potential, but sold 1991 Rx7 coupe, currently has an REW swap with the stock FD ecu, and some other little neat bits. 1993 Rx7 CYM R1, cool but boring 2004 Rx8 winning blue GT, bought it as a project, but it refuses to actually break 2004 Rx8 tit grey base, bought dead, did major service + 4 coils, and had a perfect 8, resold 2005 Rx8, winning blue GT. needed an engine and cat, engine was under warranty, i bought the cat, made some money on this one. in non Mazda the highlights are 1965 NSU Wankel spider, if you reversed it mileage would actually come off the odometer. 1967 Mercedes 250s, super base car, f-ing cool 1971 Mercedes 300SEL 3.5. these are fantastic, its all leather wood and chrome, with a ride that is better than a new one, and its quick! 1968 Mustang 4 speed 302 headers, etc, the 1986 Rx7 would literally run circles around this thing... 1958 Triumph Tr3. best of the british sports cars, imo. its better than an MGB, but less complex than a Jag or big healey. 1973 MGB, fun! if i did another it would get a rotary |
Its always great to hear from fellow "Mazdamaniacs".)

1986 1.6L Mazda BFMR 4wd turbo hatchback 1992 1.8L Mazda GTX 4wd turbo hatchback 1992 1.8L Mazda GTR 4wd turbo hatchback 2003 RX8... |

My first gen RX7 that was heavily modified, I actually kept for 13 years; so I had overlapping ownerships where I owned two RXs at the same time ,as well as a piston Mazda (usually for the wife) alongside an RX. Owned both 2008 Mazdaspeed3 GT and my current 2008 40th Anniversary RX8 at same time. Sold the Speed3 GT a couple of years ago, still driving the RX8 as my DD. |
Started with:
'73 RX-2 Sedan, then '76 Cosmo 73 RX-3 '82 RX-7 GSL '77 RX-4 Wagon-Family Camping Car '77 RX-4 Wagon-parts car '77 Cosmo '86 RX-7 '85 RX-7 GSL-SE '87 RX-7 Sport '04 RX-8 '07 RX-8 Non Rotary; '89 MPV '03 Tribute '07 CX-7 '10 CX-7 Over 40 years of Mazda ownership and I don't have any regrets..I question some of their styling but not their overall quality and fun. But I love the way they keep some styling cues over the decades. The CX-7 rear quarter panel is almost identical to the RX-4 Wagon's. All RX's carry over the C piller concept fairly closely. I really hope for another RX before I get to old to appreciate it, but it doesn't look good. |
I've had three different ones, an older 323, a 1987 RX-7, and now the 2006 RX-8. They are all reliable cars, although I eventually had a water pump failure with the RX-7, a local body shop bought it from me and fixed all that. He drove it for a while but his wife hated it.
