what car would you recommend next?

So next year I'm planning to get another car but I'm not trading in my 8 because I love it and no other car could fill its place. My price range is 20000 and the number one car in my mind is a 2007 335i. My question is what car would you guys recommend for that price range . I'm 19 so I want car thats fun to drive and gave more power than my 8. I know I won't find a car that handles as good as my 8 but I'll like to get one that's close to it so if you guys can shot some cars at me I would appreciate it. Thank you

At thre risk of getting flamed for judging your question rather than answering it, why would you want a car similar to the 8 if you're going to keep the 8? If I were to get a second car, it would be one that did all the things the 8 was not capable of. Like carrying a lot of stuff. Or something I could park at the airport or a shopping center and not fret about it getting scratched. Or something that could lull me to sleep.

Prius.

Doesn't the commercial say "fun for everyone"? They must be fun then.

Agreed!

I'm stuck between a 135i and a 370z. I don't want a 370 because its a Nissan and I think its a lot better to pull in somewhere in a BMW. The only thing the botheres me is how every time I watch the best motoring videos the 370z spanks this 135i. At least fifth gear has good thing s to say about the 135i.

If head-turning when you pull into someplace matters, it's really hard to beat the 8, unless you go to something more exotic like a Maserati.

So your 19 with 20k to spare for another car?
Hmm...Why don't you just drop a 20b in there and call it a day.
You will still have the handling + more power/torque.

comebackqid 11-30-2012 05:50 AM

yea they are in that price range with 90,000 miles LOL I favor the E46 M3 those are still 20,000+ SMH.
I recommend another fun car: 335i is a good choice but you wont have money for mods so...

-S2000
-350Z
-EVO 8,9
-STI

you will have money left over for mods, engine building, wheels, coilovers, or what ever you want.
or just save it for a rainy that what I would do or doomsday prepping.

Well I won't have the money till next year and I sure he wants to sell it before? But if he still has it next year than for sure

cesarthepleaser 11-30-2012 06:23 AM

I'm sure a 20b will be a lot more than 20grand.
@comeback, all the care you mentioned are great but there's a few reasons why they don't work I've always wanted an s2000 but my cousin has always wanted one so I'm not trying to ruin that for him. My brother is soon getting his license and I think my parents are getting him a z. Now for the evos ant sti's yeah there really quick but in my opinion no the best looking cars in the world. When girls ask me what kind of car do I drive? I rather say BMW than Subaru or Mitsubishi. Haha

5 grand for a that motor is not bad at all but won't I need another tranny ecu and all kinds of tunning that runs close to 40 grand?

SayNoToPistons 11-30-2012 11:50 PM

Well I make pretty good money and I don't have any expenses so my money adds up. I really want a white 135i with with the white interior. I think that looks awesome l.

Twincharged RX7 12-02-2012 10:15 AM

Get an fd for $12-$15k and spend the rest on modding it or your 8. A nice fd will turn more heads than a 135 and also beat the crap out of it.

8 Maniac 12-02-2012 10:53 PM

I hope this is after you've put a decent amount into savings.

Chrishoky 12-02-2012 11:07 PM

Save the money for a house, spending the money on another car is just foolish. You cant live at mommy and daddys forever...

ASH8 12-03-2012 02:54 AM

/\ Agree..:)

Get a Miata MX-5 (NC) so much like an RX-8, uses the same suspension geometry (it is identical apart from rear shock fixing), same gearbox, lighter Diff.

Smaller 2 seater, WAY more economical by 65% to an 8...another BLAST to drive and own.

I have driven (company demo Mazda's, a few months per new car) and personally owned so many Mazda's there are too many to list, without any doubt the S2 and NC2 Miata , ARE the best sorted out Sports Cars Mazda has ever built.;)

Now the all new 2014 Mazda 6 WILL be very VERY special...probably the closest Mazda yet to the top German brands....I know some will laugh...but you just wait!..

The last time Mazda did a car that was as good if not better than a similar BMW or Audi or Mercedes was back in the late 1990's, the large V6 929, the HD to HE Series...

WOW,,,, this was a very special car, particularly the 4 door pillar-less Hardtop.

These 929's were better than what the Germans had to offer at the time, the features and luxury was astounding, from the solar powered Sun Roof/collector which automatically set off the Boot/Trunk extractor fans to cool car interior while parked in heat/sun, to the Solar car Battery re-charger when stopped, sound system, luxury carpets, rear air conditioner, heated seats.

The suspension , ride, brakes, engine (V6) , trans, all was the very best Mazda and Japan made...even with a Manual Trans option too.....a VERY, very special Mazda, which unfortunately did not sell well (price), it was $80,000+ here in Australia at the time.

The 2014 Mazda 6 is there most advanced/engineered Mazda ever....get one of those...?..there is a Coupe coming.
