Wavy pattern on rear winshield
What is that wavy pattern that I see on the rear winshield of many cars. My RX-8 has it. I used to only see it once in a while on cars and I pretty much just thought it was defective laminate in the glass. But now I see more and more cars with it. Does it serve a purpose? The pattern looks like a greenish bubble like pattern in between the defroster strips. Most of the time the pattern is perfectly up and down.

Any chance you're wearing polarized sun glasses? Are you talking about the window tint?
|
Is it almost a checker board pattern? If so, then you likely have polarized sunglasses on.

I have this problem as well. I do NOT have polarized sunglasses. It makes me angry!

The checkerboarding is due to the strain pattern from tempering the glass. It is more obvious when wearing polarized glasses.
